Father of VIA Rail terror suspect says son wouldn’t hurt anyone
TUNIS, Tunisia – The father of Chiheb Esseghaier, accused of plotting a terrorist attack against a Via Rail passenger train on the New York-Toronto route, asked Canadian authorities to release his son, he told a QMI Agency news team in Tunisia.
“I call on Canada to release Chiheb, as they have no formal proof that he planned (something). If they found a map planning something or material used to do it, I agree, I accept everything. But if they do not have it, they should stop,” Rashed Esseghaier said.
