London Mayor Boris Johnson ‘banned Christian adverts on buses to win gay votes’

The Mayor gagged a Christian group’s bus ad campaign to win votes in the gay community, the High Court heard today.

The campaign was based on the slogan: “Not gay, ex-gay, post-gay and Proud. Get over it.” It was intended as a response to Stonewall’s own campaign on TfL of “Some people are gay. Get over it.”

But Boris Johnson stepped in last April to ban the campaign, describing it as “clearly offensive” to homosexuals.
