Trudeau asked to reconsider speaking role at upcoming ‘Reviving the Islamic Spirit Convention’

Canada’s Jewish human rights organization, B’nai Brith Canada, has contacted Liberal Party leadership candidate Justin Trudeau over concerns relating to a keynote address he is scheduled to deliver at the 2012 Reviving the Islamic Spirit Convention in Toronto later this month. The organization believes these concerns merit immediate attention by Mr. Trudeau, who has so far appeared unresponsive to the issues raised.

Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada issued the following statement:

“At this critical time in the campaign for leadership of the Liberal Party, we would like to discuss with Mr. Trudeau issues relating to his participation as a keynote speaker at the upcoming Convention. We believe that the concerns raised are disturbing enough to warrant Mr. Trudeau’s close attention and we have requested a meeting to discuss these issues with him in person.”
