Cordesman evidently believes that the U.S. should make it clear to the Iranians that they must abandon the program or else the American military will destroy it. Cordesman also believes that the United Sates should establish redlines and deadlines and make it clear to the Iranians that they will be upheld and that the U.S. should offer Iran generous rewards for ending the program as a face-saving sop for them.
