Rory Leishman, An Apology, The Muslim Brotherhood… and why Imam Zijad Delic should not be taken at his word

This story has it all. You’ll recall that Rory Leishman had a column spiked by editor Joe Ruscitti of the cowardly London Free Press. One of the primary concerns raised in that column was the pervasive influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Canada.

Dr. Munir El-Kassem’s involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood affiliate – MAC – Muslim Association of Canada was a focus of the spiked article by Leishman. As I have pointed out previously, El-Kassem has publicly praised the racist Louis Farrakhan and also has written a sick-making apologia on behalf of the Taliban. I have also pointed out that this same El-Kassem sits on Imam Zijad Delic’s Islamic History Month advisory board, along with a number of Muslim Brotherhood affiliated indivduals such as Jamal Badawi.

What follows provides an excellent example of why hard questions need to be asked and why Imam Zijad Delic and the Canadian Islamic Congress should not be trusted, based both on the CIC’s sordid history as well as on the company they currently keep. I encourage you to follow the last link and read it in it’s entirety;

Dear All:

I am pleased to relate that upon reflection, Leila Paul has withdrawn her support for the decision of Joe Ruscitti, Editor in Chief of the London Free Press, to censor my last column on homegrown Islamist terrorism. Even better, she has apologized to me in private and in public for having broadcast the false and defamatory allegation on the website of the Free Press that I hate Muslims.

I am most grateful for Leila’s apology. While we all make mistakes, all too few of us have the integrity which she has displayed in frankly acknowledging an error and making amends in public.

Meanwhile, the Free Press has retained Leila’s original, defamatory comment on its website and refuses to publish her retraction and apology. That is disappointing.

Here, then, are Leila’s remarks as posted on her own website…
