Update: scroll down for the Igantieff meeting with the ICNA.
Verse of the day: Ask the Children of Israel how many clear (Signs) We have sent them. But if any one, after Allah´s favor has come to him, substitutes (something else), Allah is strict in punishment. 2:211
A little about the ICNA: “The press release also recounted some of the views expressed at the aforementioned ICNA meeting. These included an exhortation that “Islam must be translated into political dominance”; pleas for support for “jihad” in “Chechnya, Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq [against U.S. forces], southern Sudan, and … in Bosnia/Kosova [sic]”; an appeal for unity among Pakistani Muslims against “Hindu Brahmins and Zionist Jews”; and an endorsement of Muslim women’s inclusion in carrying out jihad.”
This is the “The Objective” of the ICNA Sisters
To seek the Pleasure of Allah (SWT) through the struggle for establishing the Islamic system of life as spelled out in the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S)
The ICNA Sisters seem ordered along cult like if not militaristic lines. The “Personal Report Card” , taken from the ICNA Sisters Canada site, is designed to keep a tab on individual members activities such as:
1. Did you pray on time with concentration?
11. Did you distribute flyers? ____ Pamphlets?
The following explanation of sacrifice and Jihad is taken from a document entitled “Sacrifice – The making of a Muslim” on the ICNA Sisters site. This explanation is nothing like the “personal spiritual struggle” version of Jihad peddled to the public.
“But it is at the collective level that struggle, and hence sacrifices, are required in order to summon the entire world to live under One God. Most often the Qur’an denotes the struggle in this sense as Jihad. Iman demands dethroning all false gods, standing up to all forces of evil, oppression and corruption. Jihad is required to subdue all forces in rebellion against God. It therefore requires sacrifices of a vastly different order and nature than those required to subdue one’s Nafs (self).
Sacrifice and Inner Resources
Sacrifices contribute to the success of our struggle in two ways. Firstly, they strengthen our inner spiritual and moral resources and develop qualities of character which are essential to our struggle at every level. Secondly, they develop and reinforce cohesion and discipline within a collectivism, giving it the strength and resources to conduct Jihad at the wider social level.
Let there be no love of this world, let there be no fear death.
Only then can you attain the strength necessary to sacrifice your life. Only by being ready to die can you overwhelm hostile forces. Only then the door of success shall open. By dying you attain life, both for yourself and for the community. Unless you are prepared to die you forfeit the right to live especially as a community.”
Oh, also on the ICNA Canada web site: Iggy talks up the “Good Taliban” with the ruling Mullah
ICNA Media: Dr. Al-Nadvi, let us talk about Afghanistan and what is the fundamental issue of chaos in that country. What message have you conveyed to Mr. Ignatieff on behalf of the Muslim community?
Dr. Al-Nadvi: Mr. Ignatieff mentioned that the Canadian Government is planning to talk with some (good) Taliban and want to support them in building a sound infrastructure for Afghanistan. I have explained that the Taliban movement developed because when the Soviet Union left Afghanistan, West completely ignored the people of Afghanistan. The West did not support the mainstream political groups in Afghanistan, but rather cornered them and supported those elements and groups who were not capable of providing balanced teachings of Islam and could not fulfill the leadership gap after the Soviet Union left Afghanistan. I have expressed that the Canadian Government should update American authorities that if they handed over the matters of Afghanistan to Indian authorities, or if they let Pakistan remain a victim of terrorism, it will never resolve the Afghanistan issue nor will the West ever achieve its targets in Afghanistan.
