Liberals approve motion to increase Canadian Human Rights Commission Abuse of Power

While the resolution calling for “citizenship status” and “socio-economic class” to be added as prohibited grounds of discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act was approved by the LPC convention let it stand for the record that not all LPC members are raving lunatics, just the majority. The final vote tally was 223 in favour to 185 against.

“But there was considerable debate over the implications the resolution might have.

“There is an aspect of this resolution that absolutely terrifies me,” said an Ontario delegate.

“We have had over the last few months a demonstration of an abuse of power by the human rights commission. This resolution would actually add to the probability that the human rights commission would continue to abuse its power,” he said.

Citizenship and Socio-Economic status hmmmm. The Libs are certifiable.
