Human Rights in Nova Scotia – Secrecy Rules at Taxpayer expense

Chronicle Herald

Don’t tell Carol Macomber you can’t fight city hall.

She did, and last September she and her lawyer negotiated a human rights settlement with metro’s municipal government, her former employer.

But taxpayers have been kept in the dark about the gender-based deal, because terms of the agreement between Ms. Macomber and Halifax Regional Municipality were kept secret.

Why am I not surprised to hear of secret settlements, Nova Scotia is home to Michael Noonan Human Rights Goof of the Year Nominee.

Details of Macomber’s complaint, evidently people didn’t like working with her.
