From The Star: Barrie police want probe of racist email
“…Officers say the email, with the subject line “Afrocentric Math for Toronto’s new black only school,” was sent out by a senior police inspector Feb. 11 to several officers and the force’s street crimes unit.
One officer who contacted the Star said many found the email offensive. “For (the inspector) to send something like that is incredibly unprofessional and it gives us all a bad name,” said the officer, who asked that his name not be used. “
The email cites 10 math “problems,” all based on firearms use, drug deals, pimping, theft and other criminal offences.
“It is important that these people have stories and role models that they can relate to,” the email notes. “They should do well in math!”
One question asks: “Ramon has an AK-47 with a 30-round clip. He usually misses six out of every 10 shots and he uses 13 rounds per drive-by shooting. How many drive-by shootings can Ramon attempt before he has to reload?”
