Al-Qaeda Attack Survivor Says Quran Makes Her ‘Such a Good Atheist’

A survivor of a 2015 machete attack by al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent told a conference in Pittsburgh this past weekend that she only has to read the Quran to confirm her atheism.

In February 2015, Bangladeshi-American secularist blogger Avijit Roy was hacked to death on a Dhaka street. “The target was an American citizen.. 2 in 1. #America recently martyred 2 of our brothers in #Khurasan & #Shaam. #Revenge+#Punishment,” Ansar al-Islam Bangladesh tweeted afterward.

Roy and his wife, Rafida Bonya Ahmed, lived in suburban Atlanta and were visiting Bangladesh for a month.

  • You couldn’t give me an all expense paid trip to Bangladesh?

    • I wanna open a rib joint there, but the bank is iffy about a loan.

      • Alain

        You do mean pork ribs?

Oc course reading the Koran would make anyone an atheist. It’s an incoherent book where Allah is always ranting about how he’s come to punish humans even though he created them to worship him. His commandment violate natural law and the whole book is an incoherent anti ration and anti reason book.

Which is why we need to preserve rationality and reason that has so enriched the world. I bet that if the late blogger had been exposed to arguments from say Christian apologists (the good ones) and he might see that not all religions are so rabid

    • It is an insane pile of gibberish.

Agreed but given that it’s shaped people’s outlook. But the effects have been utterly negative it’s necessary to investigate and argue why this is the case
