Diane James elected new Ukip leader after winning race with landslide victory

Ms James won the race with a huge 48 per cent of the vote, while grassroots outsider Lisa Duffey pulled in 25 per cent.

Bill Etheridge had 12 per cent of the votes.

She said: “No one can take away the disruption we’ve caused.

“The days of Project Fear tactics have had their day. And we’ve proved why they have had their day and we are going to ensure they will never, ever rise from the political ashes again.”

I saw her on BBC a couple of years ago and I admired her style. Now, I’m not sure about her content. No wonder people distrust politics.
