US and Israel Sign Massive Deal

The United States and Israel have signed a new aid deal that will give the Israeli military $38 billion over the course of 10 years. It’s the largest such agreement the U.S. has ever had with any country.

After months of negotiations, the unprecedented deal was signed at the State Department on Wednesday.

The aid totals $3.8 billion a year — up from $3.1 billion the U.S. gave Israel annually under the current 10-year deal that expires in 2018.

Under the agreement, Israel’s ability to spend part of the funds on Israeli military products will be phased out, eventually requiring all of the funds to be spent on American military industries.

Why are we giving any military aid to Israel?

    • Perhaps to make up for being lousy allies, I suppose.

Obama is looking for a legacy.

Israel will need a whole lot of resources before it has to go it alone.

So far, looking at Israel’s history the appear to make just about anything they need, it’s called making honey out of dog shit.

        • That probably wouldn’t taste good.

But seriously, a some point (Obama or not) Israel will have to go it alone. This deal should the last or one of the last.

It’s a good deal for Lockheed Martin but not a good deal for Israel and I’ll bet that if Trump is elected, he will renegotiate it so that Israel spends more of its own money on hardware development that can be recovered by sales to friendly buyers.

Maybe Obasma is hoping to rustle up more Jewish votes for Hilldog. Trump has been looking stronger on defending Israel from the local barbarians.

I don’t get it. I didn’t think Obama would give Israel anything.
Maybe the Mossad promised to let the prick live.
