Donald Trump Hillary Clinton 2016

Trump, Republicans and the ‘Principles’ Question

All #NeverTrump conservatives maintain that their decision to never vote for Donald Trump is guided by their principles. I have no doubt that this is true.

But some of them seem to imply, or at least might think, that conservatives who vote for Trump have abandoned their principles. Indeed, the charge of compromising on principle is explicitly levied at Republican politicians and members of the Republican “establishment” who support Trump.

Their so-called principles are based on the fear of losing their seat on the gravy train, or public teat.

    • That’s about it, their service to the looters of the nation is at risk.

Yawn. You know, this is actually getting kind of boring since the Trumpster has no hope of winning.

    • I cannot agree with you.

        I hope you’re right but …

If Trump had no hope of winning, he wouldn’t have thrown his hat in the ring and spent millions of his own funds.

Has he spent any money, though? From what I’ve heard virtually all the Trump contributions have been directed to Trump assets (hotels, planes, etc). He may even make a profit out of the exercise.

Luckily for Democrats, their candidate is the living embodiment of their principles.
