Conservatism’s ‘Racism’ Isn’t What You Think It Is

Neither conservatism nor the GOP has been acting as the cover for clandestine bigotry. There is, however, a group of people reacting to racial identity politics.

Conservative intellectuals are saying the Republican Party is doomed because the ideals of conservatism have been inextricably marred by “white nationalism.” Leaders of the conservative movement, they say, must therefore abandon the Republican Party to “cranky old white people” and create a “new conservatism—a political vision that adheres to limited government principles but genuinely appeals to a more diverse America.”

This argument is wrong on two points.

I worked as a banquet manager for ten years.
    We hired everybody and anybody.
The only racism we indulged in related to your ability to get to work on time, earn your hours and not steal.

Common sense — the ability to think clearly and critically — got flushed down the toilet a while back. It is now much easier to “think” in pre-digested memes offered up by those who seek power or those who strive to hold onto the power they have.

We live in a world in which it has become dangerous to say what you really mean. Thought police are everywhere looking for “coded messages”. Better to keep one’s mouth shut.

But this insanity is soon coming to an end. When all of us — white, black and coloured plus the Heinz 57 of genders — are scrambling to grab the dwindling supply of food from the shelves, we will know who the real enemy is and .how our governments have callously betrayed us.

True nationalism has no colour, shape or size. Claiming such a thing as “white nationalism” says that all non whites are traitors to the nation they belong to. It is therefore an insult to all good, true patriots of colour. Disgusting.
