World Vision ‘shocked’ by Israeli accusations against its manager in Gaza

World Vision said it was “shocked” to learn about accusations that’s manager in Gaza had channelled the charity’s funds to Hamas, calling for “fair” and “legal” processes to be undertaken, a statement said.

On Thursday, 50 days after Mohamed El-Halabi was detained at Israel’s Ashdod port, Israeli intelligence services announced that El-Halabi funnelled $7.2 million from the charity to Hamas.

  • I bet they are.

They are shocked because they gave him 15 million to pass onto hamas and he only passed on the 7.2; so shocked he pocketed so much.

Shocked. Why do I suspect there’s a bit of bullshit dribbling from their yaps.

Perhaps much more than $7 million ?

I’m sure the united church office in gaza will vouch for them. Or perhaps the Green Party.

I’ve long since come to the conclusion that small, local charities are the only ones to support.

    • WV was always known as generally conservative — just good-hearted people wanting to help the poor. But that’s part of the problem, they’re not very astute politically and have been sucked into helping all kinds of causes because of their naivete — back in the ’80’s everything from the CIA to Communist guerrillas, and now the terrorist Hamas. Often it depends on who the Regional Director is in the area of the world where they have a particular project. They need to take a close look at who is in charge of projects in Gaza and Palestinian territory — that’s where they’re going to find the Hamas infiltrators.

I’m so glad I never gave them any money.
