Democrats continue to top Republicans in convention ratings

The Democrats have drawn larger audiences than the Republicans on each night of their convention so far, despite GOP nominee Donald Trump’s ability to draw strong TV ratings throughout the campaign season.

Don’t flatter yourself – everyone likes to watch a train wreck.

I dialed in to smell the fart protest. Regrettably (or maybe not) my television is not equipped with smell-o-vision.

  • Norman_In_New_York

The ratings are as rigged as the opinion polls and news coverage.

    • Justin St.Denis

I tuned in between watching CLINTON CASH and other stuff in order to see how the DNC would compensate for the fact that HRC is the most hated candidate ever. I have done some “events coordination” in my time and know full well how “reality” can be bent and shaped by the camera lens and technology.

Yeah, I read in another source this morning that Trump outdrew Crooked Hillary too.

  • Hard Little Machine

It had Hollywood talent, musical productions. It’s not hard to see why.

  • Are they talking about “audiences” or “delegates”? Because delegates are forced to attend, and under the Democrat system they assign twice as many delegates as the Republican system.

And the large audiences don’t show up until the final night after the delegate business is over — both Conventions were half-empty until the final night. Interestingly the Dems had to advertise on Craigslist for paid seat-fillers on their final night. I don’t think the Republicans had to pay people to fill seats.

I just saw this at Zerohedge – pretty good summary

      This one also.

  • Jay Currie

So, just for fun, ask yourself who still watches TV.

    • Justin St.Denis

Excellent point, Jay. What I watched of the DNC was via a live feed online at Breitbart. We haven’t had any sort of TV reception since 2010. 😉

    • Norman_In_New_York

I watched the Republican proceedings on YouTube. I didn’t watch the Democrats because my bullshit detector was jumping off the charts and Hillary’s oratory is as easy to take as fingernails on a blackboard. The next big events are the debates, beginning after the break for the Olympics, which also promises to be a disaster..

      • Surele Surele

it’s like you were in my living room.

      • Justin St.Denis

You are so right. It is going to be hard to decide which trainwreck to watch! But I’m pulling for the debates. Methinks Trump is going to say shit that is going to leave Hillary gasping for breath. 😉

    • Surele Surele

We threw our tv set about 20 years ago, never looked back.

      • Clink9

How do you Mennonites watch Formula One racing?

        • Surele Surele

We have now more time to do our own.

    • Maggat

Good point. Our huge smart (dumb ass) TV is only on for the wife to watch Russian channels, over the internet.

      • andycanuck

What Fits Into Mother Russia or Hey! Giorgi episodes, Maggat? 🙂

        • SDMatt

          Hey! Giorgi,
          He’s coming to your town
          Hey! Giorgi,
          He never wears a frown . . .

Gawd I miss those pre-Newfoundland “humour” days.

            You lose… comrade.

The elites have decided who should be president and that’s what America will get. The media, entertainment industry, and welfare classes have stacked the decks just like they did in the Canadian election. And what did we get, the stupidest prime minister in Canadian history. The DNC looked more like a Hollywood awards ceremony than a convention. And of course we had the black anti cop people there, and a muslim berating Donald Trump.

  • RAMA44

I would take ALL polls with a huge grain of salt from here on in!! http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2016/07/29/reuters-ipsos-poll-change-methodology/
