BREAKING: Berlin doctor shot in fifth German horror attack in days

The shooter has allegedly shot themselves after shooting the doctor inside the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (University Hospital Steglitz).

    72-year-old Rainer B. from Spandau had been treated by Dr. Thomas B. for some time. He had also been operated on by him. The doctor was a highly respected specialist as a maxillo-facial surgeon. “He was recognized in this field as a surgeon and highly sought after,” said Karl Max Einhäupl, CEO of Charité during a press conference in the evening.
    The hospital management, with regard to medical confidentiality, do not want to comment on the motive of the perpetrator. “It was probably less revenge than despair”, the medical director Ulrich Frei said.
