open carryCleveland police union urges governor to suspend open-carry gun law

The head of the Cleveland police union called on the governor of Ohio to declare a state of emergency and to suspend open-carry gun rights during the Republican national convention, following the killing of three officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Sunday.

“I don’t care what the legal precedent is, I feel strongly that leadership needs to stand up and defend these police officers,” Steve Loomis, the head of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, told Reuters in an interview at the union’s headquarters on Sunday. The four-day convention is due to begin on Monday.

I’m surprised no one has suggested cancelling the event and skipping a GOP nominee this cycle.

obama-lying5 big lies from Obama’s Dallas memorial service

In the aftermath of the shooting of five Dallas police officers by a black power activist, and cell phone video of police shooting unarmed black men, President Obama had the chance to use his words to bring Americans together.

Unfortunately, as is so often the case with him, the president choose instead to fan the flames of racial tension in his speech at the Dallas memorial service for the fallen officers.

In doing so he made a number of false statements.

“That so much of the tensions between police departments and minority communities that they serve is because we ask the police to do too much and we ask too little of ourselves. As a society, we choose to underinvest in decent schools,” he said. “We allow poverty to fester so that entire neighborhoods offer no prospect for gainful employment. We refuse to fund drug treatment and mental health programs. We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book. … We know these things to be true.”

Do we?

Constitution.ShutterstockAhead of hosting VP debate, Longwood U to debut unique ‘obligations to citizenship’ curriculum

Hearkening back to a time when a university’s main goal was to shape and instruct young people on what it means to be an engaged contributor in civic society and the body politic, Longwood University is preparing to debut a massive curriculum focused on just that.

Longwood, the site of this fall’s only vice presidential debate, will roll out 31 pilot courses this fall that relate to citizenship themes in a variety of ways across different disciplines.

“The hope is that every student will be touched in some way and will be able to reflect on their broader obligations to citizenship,” said Justin Pope, chief of staff to Longwood’s president.

lurchKERRY: There is a ‘NOOSE’ Around Their Necks–ISIS is on the Run

Secretary of State John Kerry insisted Sunday that a recent spate of terrorist attacks reflects that ISIS is “on the run” in Iraq and Syria.

Kerry downplayed attacks like the shooting at an Orlando nightclub, a driver’s rampage through a crowd in Nice and the Istanbul airport attack, saying they don’t reflect the strength of the group in its home bases.

Those attacks “the desperate actions of an enemy that sees the noose closing around them,” he told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”

Bouhlel-truckNo lone wolf: Nice jihad murderer sent text message “BRING MORE WEAPONS” just before massacre

Yesterday it was revealed that Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel sent $110,000 to his family in Tunisia days before attack. Now we learn that the Nice Jihadi was sending texts about his increased arsenal of weapons just before the attack. Not the actions of a lone wolf or a lunatic. It was Islam. It was jihad.

Theresa May has indicated that Brexit could be delayed as she said she will not trigger the formal process for leaving the EU until there is an agreed “UK approach” backed by Scotland.

The Prime Minister on Friday travelled to Scotland to meet Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister, and discuss plans for Britain’s Brexit negotiation.

In a sign that the new Prime Minister is committed to keeping the Union intact, she said she will not trigger Article 50 – the formal process for withdrawing from the EU – until all the devolved nations in the country agree.

Police in Cleveland say they aim to avoid mass arrests at the protests planned for next week’s Republican National Convention, but preparations by the city’s courts to process up to 1,000 people a day have some civil rights activists worried.

Thousands of people from across the country are expected in the city to protest the expected presidential nomination of New York businessman Donald Trump, who has vowed to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and restrict immigration from countries with large Muslim populations if elected.

obama-bowsConfirmed: Top Saudi Officials Aided the 9/11 Jihad Plot

After 9/11, the U.S. declared war on terror and entered Iraq and Afghanistan. But if Bush had really been serious about attacking jihad terror at its root, he would have invaded Saudi Arabia and Iran instead. Under Obama, the betrayal has gotten exponentially worse. There needs to be a full Congressional investigation now into why these 28 pages were kept secret for so long, with those responsible punished accordingly. And above all, the next American administration must make a searching reevaluation of our relationship with Saudi Arabia, and stop treating enemies as allies.

Armed-Man-Storms-Cinema-Near-Frankfurt-640x480Judge: Instant Jail Term if you Criticise Migrants Again

A couple appeared before a court to answer to charges of incitement because the man had established a Facebook group that was “hostile to refugees”.

Peter M. founded a secret group called AFB (Anti Refugee Movement) about a year ago on Facebook. As a secret group, people who are not members of it would have been unable to see its content. He and his wife Melanie were administrators of the Facebook group, so both had to attend the court on charges of sedition.

The offending Facebook page’s founding statement was read out in the courtroom. Written by Peter M. it read: “The war and economic refugees are flooding our country. They bring terror, fear, sorrow. They rape our women and put our children at risk. Bring an end to it!”.

Let’s crowdfund a premium BCF membership for the good judge.

LeadersAppeasementDear World Leaders: Stop Appeasing Islamic Terrorists. Start Killing Them. Now.

Dear lily-livered, pathetic, appeasing world-leaders who just want to be liked,

Enough with your mealy-mouthed, pantywaist rhetoric. Enough with your virtue-signaling soundbites. Enough with your “calls for diplomacy.” We’ve tried it your way for the last several years. You know what? Not only has appeasement fallen flat on its decapitated face, thousands of people have lost their lives as you sit in armed-security protected enclaves. Yeah, some of those victims were decapitated. Right after they were burned alive. And/or raped.

No no we must Stop the Cycle of Violence!

BTW, those are Cheddar Carbquik Biscuits – I can almost smell them from here.mouse

  • Have you tried this keto diet? I’ve found low carb to be very effective.

    • No but I may look into it.

    • FivePointSpurgeon

Insanely effective. Lost 100 about five years ago going keto and intermittent fasting. Most energy I’ve ever had.

My problem is cereal amd Apple Jacks specifically.

      • That is extremely impressive. I don’t suppose they make low-carb wine.

        • FivePointSpurgeon

Not so much. Alcohol on keto is funny. Liquor is burned first when ingested. Jack, Rum, etc. No carb vslue, IIRC, but it’s burned first leading to quick buzz.

Beer and wine have carb values and contribute to a daily amount.

I’m serious. Solves the problem of a martyr’s grave, too.

Typical leftist PM. “Just because you voted doesn’t mean we have to listen. “. Not sure when the Brits are going to do about it considering how …domesticated… They are now.

Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn’s respective views on Muslims in Britain and Muslim immigration aren’t materially different. May banned Pamela Geller from entering the UK.
