Hypocrisy on Parade

I moved out of Boystown over a decade ago, but still trek down there every five weeks to get my hair done. I can’t stomach the prospect of explaining to some new, nearby stylist that yes, I do want a perm, and yes, my hair is supposed to look more or less like Barbara Stanwyck’s wig in Double Indemnity, and yes, I do know that that was supposed to be an ugly hairdo. (God, you just don’t GET it!) (Mom!!!)

Child's eye view of Toronto gay pride parade

Child’s eye view of Toronto gay pride parade, a “Family Friendly” event we’re told.

  • RAMA44

Just finished reading that.K really knocked it out of the park there!

    • Thanks, I will pass that along.

    • Justin St.Denis

Kathy virtually always knocks it out of the park. It’s called “incisive commentary/journalism” and there isn’t much of it around anymore.

    • Alain

      Indeed she did.

    • DGJC

      Sure. Hahahah

  • useless opinion

Happy partygoers is one thing, public gross indecency is another.

  • Waffle

I’ve asked before but I’ll ask again. Someone please tell me what public nudity has to do with being gay or LGBTQ?

    • Justin St.Denis

Or proud. How does nudity constitute an expression of pride? No one has ever answered that.

      • Why not have the parade in January?

        • Justin St.Denis

I think piggybacking upon (and ruining) Canada Day for the heterosexual majority is part of the LGBTQWERTY agenda.

          • They ruin family AND Canada Day.

Remind me why this is allowed to happen.

          • DGJC

Remind me why you missed high school history class when you didn’t learn about all the gay men who were geniuses. Without gay men there would be no Mona Lisa, no statue of David, no Socratic method of teaching, no computers. Think about it.

          • Minicapt

Some know so much that ain’t so. Then, as with the public nudity on parade, they revel in their ignorance.

          • DGJC

            Sure. Whatever. Loser.

    • It’s all about sexual dysfunction. That is what the sub-culture is based on.

If one were to have a parade for another culture (Chinese, let’s say), one would extol their contributions to society and so forth.

Is that what is going on during gay parades? Their greatest contribution to society is boinking and pink body paint?

      • Waffle

Some gays have made notable contributions to humankind (I hate it when I force myself into P.C.), although I can’t think of any off the top of my head, so you’d think they’d celebrate that, wouldn’t you?

No, I think it (the public nudity) has more to do with rubbing our noses in it and saying “Don’t you dare do anything about it, you bloody homophobes”.

We’re between a rock and the hard place. They have the OHRC and The Polyester Princess firmly in their camp.

        • Tchaikovsky.

          That is all.

        • DGJC

You wouldn’t have a computer without the gay man who invented computer science.
It’s past time to retire gay pride parades. I live in San Francisco, am gay, and do not attend them any longer. It’s mostly heterosexuals from the suburbs who attend pushing their baby strollers. It’s no longer interesting. And gay pride isn’t about sex, even though I do admit we have better sex more often than straights. We have more variety available to us anatomically. I’m sorry you people are so limited. The parades were started just to educate our heterosexual neighbors that we exist in the first place. By the way, the world’s greatest art can also be attributed to gay men:
          Leonardo da Vinci
          To name a few.

      • Alain

When your only source of identity is your sexual behaviour, you are pretty pathetic in my opinion.

        • Indeed.

But it speaks to much of the post-modern West. A stripe defines a man, not his words or deeds.

That might hurt others feelings to be so useless.

        • DGJC

Agreed, why do you heterosexuals do it?

      • The Butterfly
      • DGJC

There’s a good reason heterosexuals have no parade. I see little to extol about the byproducts of your lifestyle:

        Teen pregnancy
        Abuse of women
        Unwanted children
        Giving AIDS to the world
        Child molestation

  • Drunk_by_Noon

Real courage is seldom rewarded and is in-fact usually punished.
    Thank K for that piece!

  • Okay- what is it with these creeps and killing boys?

    It has to be asked.

    • DGJC

98 percent of men who prey on children, including boys, are heterosexual.

The truth is the vast majority of pedophiles and child molesters are in fact, heterosexual males. Pedophilia is the sexual attraction of an adult to a child. Homosexuality is the sexual attraction of an adult to an adult of the same gender.
Sex abuse crimes are a major problem and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The truth is that the overwhelming majority of sex abuse criminals are heterosexual males.
Dr. William C. Holmes, Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, authored a study in the December 1998 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association that indicated that 98 percent of all male perpetrators who had sexually abused boys were identified in their families and communities as heterosexual.
Researcher Carole Jenny found, in a 1994 study, that “a child’s risk of being molested by his or her relative’s heterosexual partner is 100 times greater than by someone who might be identified as homosexual.” Of the 93,000 sexually abused kids in the US in 1999 (the last year of available statistics), half of the children were sexually abused by their parents (Sandusky), while other relatives committed 18 percent of the offenses.
In other words, sexual orientation isn’t a factor in determining child sexual abuse.
The research is clear that the sexual orientation of an adult is not a factor in the analysis of child abuse. The American Psychological Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the American Academy of Child Psychiatrists and the Child Welfare League of America all have policy statements stating there is no correlation between homosexuality and child abuse.

      • Male on male sex is by no means “heterosexual”.

    • DGJC

Once again falsely pointing a finger at gays without a morsel of fact, or information. So typical of you people. In fact, 70 percent of victims of molestation are girls. Secondly, the vast majority of men who molest boys and kill them are heterosexual or pedophiles (not attracted to adults of either gender). A fact once in a while wouldn’t kill you, eh?

  • “I was living in Toronto in 1977 and I vividly remember the rape and murder of a 12-year-old Emanuel Jaques, a shoeshine boy.”

    You mean 1877, shirley?

    • Linda1000

I was living in Toronto at the same time, and I vividly remember that murder also. Toronto at that time was not the cesspool that it is today and I’m not just talking about gay culture when I say cesspool. Toronto was a quite a conservative city back then with very little crime and they even had dry areas in the city. I remember being able to walk around downtown or on Yonge St. any time of day or night and there were always cops around. It was actually quite safe. I also lived right downtown in the early to mid-80s and never had any problems. So, it was a different world back then and the Jacques murder was a big deal at the time.

      • Shoeshine boy?

        • Linda1000

          Yes, that’s the one.

        • Clausewitz

Still can get shoe shines at the Royal York. It’s actually a guilty pleasure to have your shoes shined with your feet still in them.

      • DGJC

Let me guess? The murderer was most likely heterosexual, right? Research proves that 98 percent of men who molest boys are heterosexual. Only a two percent chance the murderer was gay

    • k2

It’ll be your turn to be 40, 50, 60 etc. one of these days, so you might want to be a little more careful with the age cracks (no pun intended). 😉

      • Apparently I’m being too subtle. I just didn’t know there were shoeshine boys around in the ’70s.

  • ontario john

Gee, I hope Canada’s favorite prince minister will be wearing his pretty beads again. He is so young and cool. Everyone in Canada loves him.

    • DGJC

      We in America love him.

      • DMB

Love what about Justin the fact that he attends gay pride parades while at the same time goes to Mosques that teach it is acceptable to kill gays!

        • DGJC

Not all mosques teach that. In fact, some of them marry gay couples. I hope he stops going to Christian churches because American Evangelical missionaries are behind the Kill the Gays law in Uganda

          • DMB

If they are some they represent a tiny minority. Most support killing gays. In fact the Orlando shooter was inspired by this very Imam to kill gays at the nightclub. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZQ7RR3dCos

          • That’s damn silly, moral equivalence is always a pathetic argument.

          • DMB

I bet he HATES Milo Yiannapolous even more for being a gay conservative. That troll wins the Darwin award for Liberal stupidity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7hvz2zk6Pc

          • He spewed so much BS there was no point bothering to refute him, he was absolutely manic.

Had he tried a measured factual response as opposed to his bizarre claims I would be happy to have let him have his say.

          • DMB

I agree between his gay supremacist remarks to Islam being tolerant and open to gays while Christianity is horribly intolerant is so over the top ridiculous that banning him was the only resort.

  • tom_billesley

    a “Family Friendly” event ….
In the progressive lexicon, “Family” has a new meaning.

    • DGJC

Family has the same meaning it’s always had. Gays have families too. I know that’s news to you conservatives. I know dozens of gays with children, many of whom are biological. Wow!!!

    • Clausewitz
  • Spatchcocked

    Yes….the disconnect indeed.
I remember we’d go downtown in the early sixties to see a movie……street had its usual complement of queers hookers drunks lots of drunks …..
One was quite safe because the outsiders KNEW they were outsiders, that they were not decent folks and they must behave themselves with us innocents abroad otherwise the cops would be fanning them with their truncheons.

Nowadays the outsiders have the whip hand…..how THAT occurred would take volumes.
They are more than victims now….now they consider their mental illness to be normal enough behaviour.

  • Spatchcocked

    That norm macdonalds thing….so funny….

  • Shebel

If the Gay people are soo Proud of their Lifestle –and this is their Grande Parade—
-and they call this a Family event ???
Does this mean that being an exhibitionist when children are around — turns you ON?

    • DGJC

I’m gay and live in San Francisco and I don’t go to the parades any more. It’s boring. Most of the people who attend are heterosexual and live in the suburbs. I was run over by a heterosexual pushing a baby stroller last time. Not joking!

  • Shebel

I really do pity Normal little kids that are adopted by you fucking perves.

  • DGJC

I just educated a bunch of Canadian conservatives. See below. I’m damn good at what I do. They didn’t know that gay men are more likely to be geniuses and we have contributed more of value to society than heterosexual men by a million miles.
Heterosexual males are better at this:

    Getting teen girls pregnant
    Molesting children
    Violent crime
    Abusing women
Rape of both men and women

  • DGJC

This article outlines why it is that gay men outperform heterosexual men in life. We’re actually more intelligent:

You wouldn’t have a computer without the gay man, Alan Turing, who created computer science.

    • That’s a swell mythology you’ve latched onto and I see you’ve been actively spamming the comments section with your fable.

Seems an awfully small number of genius Gays relative to the general population through the ages.

  • I banned the troll. Sorry to have let spam the comments for so long..
