EU faces Brexit ‘contagion’ as populist parties across Europe call for referendums

Populist and Eurosceptic parties across Europe moved to capitalise on the UK’s decision to vote for Brexit by congratulating Britain on its vote for “freedom” and calling for referendums on EU membership to be held in their own countries.

“Victoire de la liberte!” – “Victory for Liberty!” declared Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s far-right National Front party as she welcomed the news from across the Channel, putting a Union flag on her Twitter account in a statement of French fraternity for English euroscepticism.

Europe is falling apart and becoming the future new Muslim countries.

    • Unless their exit from the EU spurs them to act…

  • Could be.

  • Hard Little Machine

It’s much harder for nations in the Eurozone and Schengen Agreement of which the UK was already not a party.

  • moraywatson

Thank goodness Britain has woken up and voted to leave the EU. Now I hope that the people of the United States will vote in November to abandon the Uniparty that is putting them into servitude. Thank you Farage ! Go Trump !

Justine is busy having his hair done, while Sophie is practising her pole dancing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

      • Junior said he didn’t want to interfere with the vote then stated he sure wished they stayed in the EU.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

His mere presence tipped the scales.

        • RAMA44

He can beat Hitlery over the head with this for the next 5 months.’tis a beautiful thing. The lefty heads will literally explode when trump gets in!1

      • moraywatson

You are right btw 🙂 nothing Trump does happens without a purpose. He could have planned to be in a lot of places on June 23, 2016.

  • robins111

Watching those socialists melting down in the EU will be as much fun as a litter of hound pups

    • moraywatson

But the litter of hound pups sounds so cute…?

  • The Butterfly

    Domino effect!

    • Alain

      I do hope so.

  • Do not panic. Obama is going to nullity the Brexit vote.

Just like he stopped the rise of the oceans that weren’t rising that much.

Any statement today from our special Justine congratulating Britain on their historic vote or is he too busy pouting and throwing a tantrum. He doesn’t represent my Canada in not supporting Brexit but he should at least offer congratulations to all Britains on having the courage to choose a new path for their future. Canada would not exist today if not for Britain and we are still closely tied to them so let’s hear from Trudope.
Marine Le Pen has so much class and would be a great leader for France. She seems to be the only leader in Europe smiling and offering encouragement to Britain.

    • Exile1981

His father hated england and renamed dominion day to canada day as part of his desire to erase english culture.

      • Linda1000

Biggest mistake of the English was to be so foolishly kind to let the French stay in the “new territories” after they won the war (1760). lol

    • Alain

I say Marine Le Pen would also be a great PM for Canada, and I couldn’t care if she isn’t bilingual. Goodness we endured old Chretien who could speak neither language.

Donald Trump was in fine form in Scotland today and said Brexit was “a great thing”.

Trump’s Statement on Britain’s vote for freedom:
The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples.
They have declared their independence from the European Union, and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy.
A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense.
The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.
Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence.
Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first.
They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people.
I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.

‘People are angry, all over the world, they’re angry,’ he said. ‘They’re angry over borders, they’re angry over people coming into the country and taking over. Nobody even knows who they are. They’re angry about many, many things.’

Meanwhile, Trump posted a statement on Facebook promising close ties between the U.S. and UK if he becomes President, saying: ‘A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense’.

Trump is very good at PR and marketing his brand. :))) You can bet leaders are listening to every word of his encouragement for the people of Britain.
Nobody paid much attention to what Ozero had to say.

I listened to this at work yesterday and often sing it loudly to myself in the great big halls.

And did those feet in ancient time,
        Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
        On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

        And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
        And was Jerusalem builded here,
        Among these dark Satanic Mills?

        Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
        Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land

    • dance…dancetotheradio

      Effing goosebumps.
I used to get that from Who songs.

But, hearing I’m Free on the radio when I was a kid gave me hope for the future.

  • The EU was a failed experiment. It doesn’t surprise me that other countries may want to leave this sinking ship.
