Stephen King: Trump Is ‘The Last Stand’ of the Sexist, Racist American Male

“I am very disappointed in the country,” King told Rolling Stone of Trump’s apparent popularity. “I think that he’s sort of the last stand of a sort of American male who feels like women have gotten out of their place and they’re letting in all these people that have the wrong skin colors. He speaks to those people.”

Thieves think everyone else is a thief; racists think everyone else is a racist.

    God, I hate that guy.

    • Justin St.Denis

Weren’t we trashing him just the other day for being such a gasbag that his novels have become unreadable? Now we learn that his opinions are pre-cut, canned and predictable.

  • G

    King is like Gary Trudeau.

Both were asshole left wing war protester types in university who struck it rich doing cartooning and pulp novel writing and because of this never had to grow up.

They never had to really have a job where they had a boss on their ass or any of the mundane work-a-day concern many of us have to deal with. This means they could remain opinionated little lefty shits who never really grew up and out of the politics table at the local campus pub.

That’s why I got so sick of reading King’s crap. It all sounded like it was written by a 26 year old know it all English major. Reading Trudeau’s Doonesbury is the same way. You feel like saying, “What did you copy this garbage out of the university newspaper?”

      Hey. Don’t hold back!

I agree with you. His writing is not very sophisticated. And that is why some
of his stories translate very well into TV and movies (did you ever read a movie script – not much to it). I usually fall asleep trying to read his books, but I did enjoy a couple of movies based on his writing. He borrows ideas which aren’t that original and develops simple dialogue around them. I think his success has far more to do with his agent’s marketing acumen than it does with his writing. The last thing I would pay attention to is his political opinion.

“The last things I would pay attention to are his political opinion and his editorial take.”

King is a hack. That needs to be acknowledged.

    • Justin St.Denis

      Your words ring true.

  • V10_Rob

I wonder if he’d change his tune when SJWs find something ‘problematic’ with his books…

  • Alain

Sure, whatever! Who cares what he thinks?

  • andycanuck

Does the issue’s cover have a cute, young terrorist on it?

  • Maggat

I only ever read one of his books and swore to Christ I’d never read another. Now I know why.

  • Exile1981

Is it me or is he looking a lot like bruce jenner.

    • Minicapt

He was run down by a mini-van in 1999:
“His injuries — a collapsed right lung, multiple fractures of his right leg, scalp laceration and a broken hip — kept him at CMMC until July 9. His leg bones were so shattered that doctors initially considered amputating his leg, but stabilized the bones in the leg with an external fixator.”

        Who ran him down?

        • Justin St.Denis

          An amateur? 😉

  • jack burns

    New England explains it.

  • Norman_In_New_York

Another generator of votes for Trump. Will these left wingers never learn that the best way to defeat him is to keep their mouths shut?

  • Martin B

I wish Stephen King would be the last stand of the American douchebag.

  • Americadies

Wow! America cares what an alcoholic drug user thinks? Like his books he simply spews trash and venom.
Stevie go back to Maine and suck down another dose of heroin.
