Union calls for independent investigation into Toronto Star reporter’s death

The union that represents employees of the Toronto Star is calling on the newspaper’s management to organize an independent, third-party investigation into the death of one of its reporters and the “events surrounding the tragedy.”

“We want the third-party investigator’s mandate to include workplace health and safety, and harassment issues,” said a memo, signed by UNIFOR’s Steve Gjorkes and obtained by the National Post.

Sounds like that place is rife with sexual exploitation. Reminds me of the CBC.

OT, (but not so much, come to think of it). Did you see the front page of the Toronto Star? Hey, doing the research for you, guys. How apt: the hell hole that is Venezuela and right below our Wonder Boy who would like to take us there.

    • DavidinNorthBurnaby

I wish Wonder Boy would take himself there and stay.

If I had to work in the same office as Heather Mallick I would commit suicide as well.

But the Social Justice crowd have banned the celebration of Halloween, because ‘cultural appropriation’. So now what ?
I think everyone at the Star should be required to adhere to all 30 days of ramadan, while living within 500 metres of a wind turbine.

Well, the Star loves islam so much, so maybe they are just trying to bring the culture of abusing women to their workplace.
