Justin Trudeau Useful Idiot

Rex Murphy: Discontent with FPTP is mainly a manufactured discontent, advanced by the players — not the voters

It is widely reported that the Trudeau Liberals are backing down on their steamroller approach to what they are pleased to call “electoral reform.” The Bloc Québécois and Green members of the government’s panel on electoral reform will now have voting rights. This means the Liberals, with five members, will hold a minority on the 12-person panel.

Nonetheless I challenge the notion that accepting a more broadly based committee qualifies as “backing down.” It should be read only as less arrogant than what they have been doing on this subject up to now.

I stand by FPTP, even if it did allow for the election of PM Useful Idiot, anything else is just chicanery by careerist hacks looking to hold on to the perqs of office.

I am for proportional representation because it will allow “fringe” parties to win seats in the House.

  • If the powers that be really believed that Canadians wanted change, why didn’t they put it to the average Canadian?

As to why people are not so furious over this and taking to the streets, well, that’s one’s own guess.

No need to ask why since this is Canada, and my goodness we must protect our reputation of being nice. Another way of looking at it is that we have been transformed into a country of wimps who think they are morally superior to our neighbours to the south.

      • Canadians just don’t care. They have no idea what goes on in their own country let alone someone else’s. They assume a stupid government will protect them.

        We need an asteroid.

Good news for atheists this morning. The united church minister who is an NDP member in the Ontario parliament, is running for the federal leadership. Now everyone who doesn’t believe in God has somebody to vote for.

If the idiot holds a referendum on that issue that will be better than previous super idiot who was taking away the rights of citizens to vote.
