Underestimating Donald Trump—Again

Fifty years from now, political scientists will still be analyzing the improbable victory of businessman, raconteur, and reality talk show host Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican Presidential Primary. The two central questions: How did so many pundits, pollsters, politicians, and opposing candidates consistently underestimate this sometimes rude and often raucous casino billionaire? And how come so many, having been confident about the impossibility of Mr. Trump winning the nomination, are now equally confident that he cannot win the general election?

Truth is the new hate speechUK at serious risk of over-blocking content online, human rights watchdog warns

“Governments have an obligation to combat the promotion of terrorism, child abuse material, hate speech and other illegal content online. However, I am concerned that some states are not clearly defining what constitutes illegal content. Decisions are often delegated to authorities who are given a wide margin for interpreting content, potentially to the detriment of freedom of expression”.

help I'm being repressedSJ Protester: “My Family Immigrated ILLEGALLY… We Shouldn’t Respect the Laws”

An illegal immigrant interviewed last night on Sean Hannity’s show said he does not believe the laws of the US should be respected.

“I think if you’re being oppressed, you shouldn’t respect the laws, because then there’s no reason to respect the laws, because you’re being oppressed,” he said.

“You don’t have to agree with protesters beating up Trump supporters, or even sympathize with them, to understand this. There are people who feel Trump’s rise puts their lives in danger. And many people make decisions about what actions are “appropriate” differently when they feel personally under threat.”

Solar Cycle Update – spotless

This is the first spotless day of the 24-25 solar minimum. Not a great deal can be read from that. According to Wilson, for cycles 9-14, sunspot minimum followed the first spotless day by about 72 months, having a range of 62-82 months; for cycles 15-21, sunspot minimum followed the first spotless day by about 35 months, having a range of 27-40 months. So we could still be six years from minimum making Solar Cycle 24 about 13 years long. Longer is weaker in the following cycle, and colder.

Lion-attempts-to-pounce-on-little-boy-at-zooEnormous lion pounces at two-year-old boy in zoo after youngster turns his back

Keepers have insisted the jump was not an act of aggression – and say the lion regularly pounces at children because he wants to play with him.

Lion expert Adam Roberts, chief executive of Born Free USA, told The Dodo: “Lions are natural wild predators and the child in this video, especially when turning his back to the massive feline, becomes prey in the animal’s eyes.

filling-up-gas-e1464983069952Norway reportedly agrees on banning new sales of gas-powered cars by 2025

The four main political parties, both from the right and the left, have agreed on a new energy policy that will include a ban on new gasoline-powered car sales as soon as 2025 – making it one of the most aggressive timeline of its kind for such a policy. What’s probably most remarkable here is that Norway is currently one of the world’s largest Oil exporters.

There’ll be a real boost to gas-powered car sales in Norway before the green axe falls, and they can expect more activity in car maintenance and used car sales.
There was a spike in sales of vacuum cleaners when the EU banned the higher wattage cleaners using unfathomable green logic.

Son of illegal immigrants whose college education (at a minimum) is being paid for by American taxpayers: “I think if you’re being oppressed, you shouldn’t respect the laws, because then there’s no reason to respect the laws, because you’re being oppressed”.

Hmm, pretty profound stuff there. Still, allow me to rephrase that for you, Einstein: “If I don’t like the laws, I don’t obey them; if and when it happens to suit me, I will obey them.” (Laws are for losers!)

Following the death of Muhammad Ali the CBC, as it to be expected, runs a glowing story about the time Ali went to a remote mining town in Quebec and gave a speech on Islam.

‘They came to hear stories of his boxing career, but got a lecture about Islam instead’

Of course he lectured them on Islam. Converts to Islam are like Jack with his magic beans….’Look what I have got. You ought to want to be like me, you ignorant fools!’

The CBC never fails to constantly promote the death cult…….

is it not Muslim tradition to bury the body immediately after death?
Ali burial reported to be on Friday

      • Yusuf_al_Kafir

Yes, that is the Islamic tradition.

The cult’s inventor, Mohammed the Pedophile, realized that the sooner he could get people to bury their dead loved ones, who died fighting in HIS battles, the less it would impact their devotion to him.

His narcissism and need for constant attention no doubt factored into his hatred for dogs, seeing as how devoted people can be to their pets.

I am so thrilled and honoured to see the clips on CBC from the Ottawa Press Gallery dinner. The greatest prime minister in the history of Canada had everyone in Canada laughing at his great jokes, and his wife sang and dig yoga for everyone. Lots of jokes about Hitler Harper, even from Rona Ambrose. We are so blessed.

And would that Vox writer be able to wrap his head around the idea that people are supporting Trump for much the same reason; that those who support open immigration are putting their lives in danger? Would he write something similarly supportive if they rioted? Hell, he should be even more supportive of them right now for feeling threatened yet not rioting.
