He Was Expendable

California refuses to honor John Wayne, but the state lavishes tributes on liberal-friendly figures guilty of similar (or worse) sins.

Was John Wayne a racist? If he was, would it negate his monumental contributions to the movies, his role in establishing Hollywood as Southern California’s still-essential industry, and his stature as an icon of the cinematic American West?

For the Democrats who dominate the California State Assembly, the answers to these questions are You Betcha and Hell Yes.

Here we go , lets see how they treat Mexican hero back when they ruled California and may have been savages for today’s standards.

Didn’t they also tear apart Warner Olan as a White that played Charlie Chan in the detective series.
Chan was based on a real detective in Hawaii which should make Obama feel proud. But Warner was Swedish while tow others , Toler and Winters , were American by birth.
This get tricky because during the Civil war there were States with blacks that defended the South and for Hollywood to apply moral retroactively we just might have blood on all of our hands for something if they go back fare enough.

As the Duke said….”never apologise, it’s a sign of weakness.”

John Wayne will always rule as far as American alpha-males are concerned. Wayne was one-of-a-kind!

I thought John Wayne was of Polish extraction.

      • Justin St.Denis

He may well have been. I am talking about his iconic status as an American in the USA. 😉

          Kirk Douglas is a Jew.
          And Spartacus.
Everyone was an American in those days.
Regardless of where they came from.

Those same liberals also honor copkiller Wesley Cook and gangbanger Stanley Williams.

Don’t forget to add “Murderer” to Stanley Williams aka “Tookie”. He murdered four people during a robbery spree to show some junior hoodlums “how it was done”.

I never use their fake names. Stanley Williams was the founder of the Crips.

One other thing: Whenever the Duke felt the need for female companionship, he invariably headed south of the border, often south of the Panama Canal. Whether such attractions are racist or not I suppose is in the eye of the beholder.

I’ve never understood the adoration of conservatives for John Wayne. I like his films well enough, but he never served in WWII, unlike many Hollywood stars.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Stewart was the real deal. An experienced pilot before the war, he flew numerous missions in Europe and participated in the Air Force Reserves until he retired as a Brigadier General in1959.
