Refugee use of food banks could be ‘cultural,’ says John McCallum

“Because you have to remember that the refugees are coming from an entirely different world … sometimes they’ve been living in refugee camps, sometimes it’s the norm to be offered meals,” he said.

It’s good to see that McCallum’s handlers are letting him talk to the media again. I wonder if there is a Johnny Walker bank in Ottawa?

    • He never fails to enlighten.

      • dance…dancetotheradio

He is proof that Canada is not a meritocracy.

        • Justin St.Denis

He is 80 proof of that principle. 😉

          • dance…dancetotheradio

Well, isn’t he a holdover from a proof is a proof?

          • Justin St.Denis

Not a chance. McCallum only sees the Truth after a few too many shots of 80 proof, but when he sobers up, it all goes POOF! From Proof to Poof in less than a decade! That’s the Liberal Party of Canada for ya!

          • dance…dancetotheradio

Proof to poof is very amusing.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

I might change my mind about him.
            No, no, no, I won’t.
I unnerstan that I can’t call him one of the foremost knob gobblers in the Liberal government.
He is though one of the worst purveyors of public policy that I have ever seen in my lifetime and they keep bringing him back like a zombie corpse to spout their addled talking points.
I would count myself privileged to break the Boxer’s Knuckle on my left hand punching him in the face.
Again and again and again and again.

      John McCallum likes to say

I don’t think his problem is being a drunk.
There are many high functioning drunks like Sir John A. and Churchill.
His problem is that he is stupid.

        • ismiselemeas

A stupid, high functioning drunk in other words.

          • JoKeR

            Drunk with power!

          • Justin St.Denis

No, not McCallum. Even Shiny Pony isn’t THAT stupid. McCallum’s drunk on alcohol. Just an ordinary, falling-down drunk who likely shits himself when “in his cups”. Bill Davis used to do the same thing. The Royal York used to charge back to the Libs for the clean-up of carpeting after their conventions.

        • Justin St.Denis

Drunk, stupid, and filled with evil. What could possibly go wrong?

  • I just love learning socio-cultural Anthropology from John McCallum. I think he must have studied under the master himself — Franz Boas:

If I was in McCallum’s position, I would take up drinking too…

Oh John, it’s called jizya; a payment obliged from any and all kafirs to Muslims who are superior in every way, apparently.

    • Ottawa Eyes

I’m afraid it may be worse than that.

My local MP was visiting a new mostly empty condo a few weeks ago with a number of people who clearly were part of his entourage.

I’m concerned this might be a repeat of the situation decades ago where the government rented condo units for Somali refugees and paid much more for the rent than Canadians were getting in total for welfare, family benefits or seniors pensions and that rent did not include all the other cash they received monthly from the government.

Those condos on Dixon Road in Toronto lost half of their value within a few years of the new neighbors dominating the buildings.

This expensive new condo just happens to be less than a 15 minute walk away from a mosque.

      • Justin St.Denis

If you’ve any fiends who own units, encourage them to sell up and get the fuck out NOW!

        • T.C.

If they are fiends, maybe they should stay.

High rates of poverty are essential to the political future of the left. So much so that they import as many poor people as they can.

    • Problem is I’m not sure they are “poor people”. Usually the first wave of people able to flee a country at war are the wealthy. That’s why they’re complainers. Poor people don’t complain — they’re accustomed to hardship.

CBC is reporting that Trudeau made a rare appearance in Parliament today to apologize for some obscure incident that happened in1914. He then crossed the floor and assaulted a couple of opposition MPs. The NDP female member had to leave because of her injury. I guess if all Canadians love you, you can do anything you want.

    • useless opinion

The Sergeant at Arms must have missed the assault, not good.

    • Just posted.

I think that if a reasonable person were to assess this situation, one might suggest behaviour mimicking Korsakoff’s Syndrome. No medicals needed for Liberals. 4 years ago a Liberal Senator had a full diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, but the other Liberals in the Senate violated the law by hiding her condition and allowing her to vote, and others allowed her to endorse realestate and stock documents when she was not competent under law. Can the Sergeant at Arms please remove these folks from Parliament Hill and save the nation.

  • canminuteman

Of course its cultural. They come from a culture of free loading moochers.

  • Oh, what I would give for candor!

The Liberals need voters blocks. Any other details are immaterial.

  • Ford Prefect

He is right it is cultural Canada has a culture of electing people like him into office.

  • marty_p

This is not the first example of cultural freeloading behaviour – Somalis on Dixon Rd, Jamaicans in public housing are two that immediately come to mind.
