Why does the government want a gay quota for BBC management?

Of all the things wrong with the BBC, it would be hard to argue that a shortage of gay people making and presenting programmes is one of them. As Andrew Marr observed a decade ago: ‘The BBC is not impartial or neutral. It’s a publicly funded, urban organisation with an abnormally large number of young people, ethnic minorities, and gay people. It has a liberal bias, not so much a party-political bias. It is better expressed as a cultural liberal bias.’

I don’t believe straight people work at the BBC.

I doubt even the gays want this, I would hazard a guess that they are over represented in the entertainment (news presenting included)industry.as it is and if it aint busted why fix it?

    • No doubt they would prefer to avoid such a spotlight.

Quota hiring practices tend to cheapen and degrade the accomplishments that the target group have already made. on the other hand it is a great debasement tool, I always refer to female safety officers and industrial hygienists as diversity hires. it’s generally accepted code for for bleeping incompetent PC placements

The BBC has been awash with sex perverts and homos for decades, just like the CBC.

Be fair, some of the paedophiles are not gay.
