One part diet pepsi, one part raspberry schnaps and three parts raspberry vodka, with a side of rohypnol.

One of those helps her get through another of Justins speeches.

Wouldn’t this be grand: universities concentrating on education and letting the ‘environments’, ‘hurt feelings’, ‘triggerwhatevers’, etc, etc, solve their problems on their own dime? Had a discussion with a colleague; she was all for ‘safe spaces’, granted, just for some snowflakes. Have to admit, it is easy for me to say this, ’cause I have an older brother who would just beat the hell out of anyone who tried to hurt me. Childhood was great.

I had to refill my coffee after snorting the last one out my nose when I read Brad Salzberg’s piece. Aside from this puff piece of self-promotion (“publish or perish”), his name started to ring a few bells, so I did a little bit of research. I could be wrong, but Mr. Salzberg could be related in some way to J.B. Salsberg, a Torontonian and communist member of the Ontario legislature. Although there is a slight difference in the spelling of the surname, when I saw his photo, there was little doubt — he is the spitting image of a fellow who is/was a contemporary of mine and who could be his father (who was related to J.B.) In fairness, J.B. did renounce his ties to communism, but the odour still lingers and will forever be associated with him.

Apparently, Brad has made a career out of railing against the Asianification of Vancouver where he lives, perhaps understandably so, as any non-Asian could easily feel swamped by the reality of the demographics (great Chinese food, though!).

What I find rather rich is Salzberg’s self-association with an “Anglo-Canadian” demographic that never really was. Perhaps he is referring to language rather than heritage?
