Bedtime for Democracy in Venezuela?

Venezuela protest against economic devastation

Leftist dictators like Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela like to bandy about how they are democratically elected and that therefor anything they do must be legitimate, and any opposition is illegitimate… until the people turn against them.

It can’t possibly matter to anyone but them what happens. Let’s hope though that Obastard doesn’t send a fleet of ships there to pick up a million ‘refugees’.

An awful lot of people here think the same thing. To them five people in a life boat voting to eat the sixth is perfectly democratic. This is why we have to keep a grip on what is the governments business and what isn’t. This is laid out very clearly in both the American and Canadian constitution, but over time judges “read in” things and what is considered the governments business expands and expands.
