India: 2 killed as rival Islamist groups clash at Aligarh Muslim University

In an incident of violence which could potentially jeopardise the education of over 30,000 students of Aligarh Muslim University, one student was killed and another seriously injured on Saturday night when groups of students engaged in firing and clashed with each other in AMU campus.

The warring students belonging from regional groups, also set on fire the Proctor’s office in which crucial documents were lost.

The injured individual who was identified as Mohammad Wakif, an aspirant who had applied for admissions in AMU, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Delhi on Sunday.

Good, this is in the west’s bets interest. If we were smart like back in the old days when a handful of British bureaucrats could run the entire planet, we would deliberately antaganize the different factions against each other, arm all sides then come back and clean up when they kill each other off.

    • They don’t seem to need a lot of help that way;)

Why are there any muslims in India?
Partition was supposed to take care of that problem.

    • India is on track to become the country with the largest muslim population in the world.

    • Kathy Prendergast

No, only Pakistan was allowed to ethnically cleanse most of its Hindu population. Muslims are allowed to have their own Muslim-only countries but also live anywhere else in the world they want to. They are the world’s special snowflakes.

Well, given the stories I’ve read about the two way migration and the confrontations they had with each other as they passed on the road, you can see how I got that impression.

        • Kathy Prendergast

Yes, many Indian Muslims migrated into Pakistan after partition, but a huge number remained, probably because they knew India was going to be a better place to live, and they were right. India has a lot of problems, but it is nothing like the hellhole Pakistan is. And they also knew that in terms of religious tolerance, it wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad for them in India as it would be for any Hindus remaining in Pakistan. So they remained a large minority in India.

These Islamic scholars were arguing about the age of child rape. One side said it was permissible at age 6. The other side said that one could merely masturbate themselves between the thighs of a young girl from ages 6 to 9.

In other news a Jew somewhere in the world won another Nobel Prize today.

How does this jeopardize the education of 30,000 students when there is nothing worthwhile to learn in that university to begin with.

    • Kathy Prendergast

The admission standards are probably lower there than at public secular universities in India, which are open to students of all faiths but (like those in China) are brutally competitive. So it’s true that if that university closes down a lot of its students will have lost their only chance at a university degree, as worthless as degrees from such fifth-rate institutions may be.
