What if the Left Doesn’t Really Want to Achieve its Policy Goals?

Here is something I bet you haven’t thought about. We naturally assume that that public policy advocates actually want to achieve the things they advocate. But there are a lot of people both on the right and the left – but especially on the left – for whom that probably isn’t true.

      Power is the end unto itself.

      Also makes for plenty of convenient alliances. You may not be particularly worried about climate change, for instance, but all the power accrued so as to criminalize deniers could sure come in handy to bludgeon opponents of social justice.

    I’ve long thought that the left didn’t give a crap about the poor and/or working people, otherwise they wouldn’t be importing millions of Mexicans to compete for scarce jobs.

      I think I was 12 when I first stating thinking immigration was mostly a way to expand their voter base and nothing else.

    Actually, I rather think their goal is domination by the elites, with rest of us in increasing subservience to our masters.
