Why There Is No Reason to Believe Facebook’s Promise Not to Influence Voters Against Trump


With no legal barriers to stop them, it seems inevitable that social media barons like Zuckerberg will eventually seek to emulate the old media barons, who imposed their own political values on the outlets that they owned.

    The surprising thing is that Zuckerberg has any political points of view at all.
    He was a monomaniacal computer science student who had no social life to speak of.
    A stroke of luck elevated him from his possible future as a school shooter.

    I am 100% certain it already happens. Maybe there is no smoking gun memo that tells how they do it, but there is no doubt in my mind.
    Just like CNN, CBC, etc, they all claim to be neutral and I believe many of them actually think they are neutral, but they come to that conclusion by thinking their stance and opinions are by default the logical, acceptable middle ground.

    When I think of Zuckerberg, I think of the Russian proverb that anyone under 30 who doesn’t think he can save the world has no heart, while anyone over 40 who still thinks he can save the world has no brain.
