NDP Goes Full Communist Retard

Graham Thomson: After a warm embrace, NDP delegates stab Rachel Notley in the back

On Sunday, they stabbed her in the back.

Delegates to the federal NDP convention in Edmonton are a fickle lot.

They resoundingly rejected Thomas Mulcair, choosing instead to launch a leadership race to find his successor. And after listening to Notley give an impassioned speech about the need to help Alberta build more oil pipelines, delegates did the opposite.

They supported a motion involving the “Leap Manifesto,” a radical document from activists within the party calling on Canada to, among other things, wean itself off fossil fuels within a generation. The manifesto is not pipeline friendly, to put it mildly.

      One can but hope Minicapt.

But the Waffle was about economic socialism; LEAP seems a bit different.

Either way, the NDP will spend some time circling the drain and leaving sanity in the dust.

      Big winner? Justin Trudeau.

Potential winner, the more conservative end of the Conservative Party because JT will drift left into the vacuum leaving a bit of room for actual conservatives to make the running without the ProgCons telling them they cannot win.

      • V10_Rob

More probable is the whole establishment moves left. The Tories occupy the center where the Liberals used to be, and the Liberals replace the NDP on the hard left. And the NDP exile themselves furter onto the fringe.

Angry Tom was a more suitable leader for the Liebral party than Baby Doc Trudeau…

Is it like Mao’s “Great Leap Forward”, that put the Chinese economy into reverse?

    • V10_Rob

Kinda like if the Tories released a policy document entitled ‘Our Struggle’.

Being that oblivious to history doesn’t happen by accident, it takes serious work.

How long before Olivia Chow crawls out from under her rock? After all, she’s going to carry on Rub and Tug Jack’s legacy.

    • Reader

She was interviewed on Canada AM this morning and she made it clear she wasn’t interested. Why work when you have a Toronto City Council pension, and federal MP’s pension, probably Jack’s portion of his MP’s/Minister/Leader of the Opposition’s pension and possibly a George Brown College pension?

The Hezbollah-supporting former UAW elite and former MP, Peggy Nash is rumoured along with Avi Lewis as possible candidates!

    bike lanes for every one

The NDP just keep turning ’round and ’round and never gets anywhere. Mulcair was an idiot for supporting some bint in Montréal who wanted to take her citizenship oath while wearing a niqab. That cost him Québec…and more. It’s surprising how dumb the guy actually is.

And Rachel Notley is fucked. She’s been stabbed in the back by all the enviro-commies she’s so staunchly defended over the years. 100,000 jobs have gone up in smoke in Alberta with the attendant loss of revenue, and so Rachel has suddenly discovered the virtues of oil and pipelines. The Naomi Klein wannabe is morphing into John Wayne.

“100,000 jobs have gone up in smoke”
It’s okay; they bought some carbon credits from Al Gore.

  • The Federal NDP have done all they could in assisting their provincial counterparts in ensuring they die a slow and extremely painful death in the next provincial election.

    • Alain

Do I ever hope you are right.

The sound just like the people who are running the liberal party

    • Reader

I have to agree with you there.

From what Gerald Butts has historically said he would probably be in full support of LEAP. He is totally in support of shutting down all oil sands production and most mining claiming it can all be economically replaced by “green energy” and the “knowledge economy”.

  • andycanuck

    Stabbed in the back?

    • Jaedo Drax

      She got Caesared

      • andycanuck

I was hinting she was actually stabbed in the front. 🙂

  • Leap Manifesto – Communist Manifesto/the Great Leap Forward.

    Not original but still nutty.
