A masked, black-clad militant, who has been identified by the Washington Post newspaper as a Briton named Mohammed Emwazi, brandishes a knife in this still file image from a 2014 video obtained from SITE Intel Group February 26, 2015. The United States on November 12, 2015 carried out an air strike in Syria targeting the Islamic State militant known as "Jihadi John," who participated in gruesome videos showing the killings of American and British hostages, officials said. One U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the strike likely killed Mohammed Emwazi, a British citizen, but cautioned that it was too soon to make any determination. Dressed entirely in black, a balaclava covering all but his eyes and the bridge of his nose, "Jihadi John" became a menacing symbol of Islamic State brutality and one of the world's most wanted men. UK Terror suspects like the ‘New Jihadi John’ face jail over new passport crackdown

Terror suspects who attempt to flee the country or fail to surrender their passports will face jail under new measures to toughen up restrictions after their arrest by police.

The Government has announced plans to create a new range of criminal offences which will aim to lock down suspected terrorists, including Islamic State sympathisers, if they are released on bail.

The new measures will make it a criminal offence to attempt to leave Britain, fail to surrender a passport or be in possession of someone else’s travel documents.

Why don’t they just let them go and THEN revoke their passports so they can’t return?

    • I think they should.

Indeed, why new laws, just use the old ones like losing your passport for fighting for a foreign nation.
