Why I Refuse To Criticize Islam As A Feminist And Atheist

“Sam Harris and Bill Maher and Richard Dawkins all want really badly for me to criticize Islam… Then, of course, they say that we should profile Muslims, and their self-defense starts to fall apart. [How so? – Ed.]  They fail to recognize that I do not live in a majority Muslim country, and that especially since 2001 but even before that, white Americans have exhibited incredible fear of Muslims [a)b.s. and b)what would that have to do with anything even if it were true? – Ed.] (demonstrated by a call to profile them, coincidentally) and committed hate crimes against people who even “look” like they might be Muslim. They fail to see their own criticisms as so sweeping that they amount to a judgment on anyone with brown skin. [Not everyone with brown skin is a Muslim you yammering bobblehead. – Ed.]

I won’t do it. I won’t take the bait of a patronizing call for feminists to set aside their goals in America to address problems in Muslim theocracies…

  • I have too many personal experiences with Muslims who are precisely as kind, understanding, compassionate, and generous (or not) as Christians and Jews and other monotheists [which other monotheists? – Ed.] to truly believe that in effect, in terms of the wide population of the faithful, Islam is any more or less morally destructive than any other religion. The Christians I know – across denomination, whether Catholic or Lutheran or Pentecostal or Episcopalian — have almost precisely the same cultural mores and moral qualms as the Muslims and Jews I know, especially on the subject of women’s rights… Oliver Cromwell committed what amounts to ethnic cleansing and enslavement against the Irish Catholics. Or what about the Inquisition forcing Jews and Muslims to convert, leave, or die…
  • Sam Harris’s notion that feminists in America ought to set our sights on helping women in Islamic countries rather than focusing on access to abortion is just another iteration of the totally ignorant idea that women “over there” have it worse than us, so we should stop complaining…. undocumented immigrant women in America face the same lack of access and resources [The same as women in Saudi? Anyway I should bloody well hope they’re denied “resources”, turnip brain. They’re illegal. – Ed.] and only last year became protected under the Violence Against Women Act; that our legal system enables discrimination against women, not least of all in terms of medical care.
  • This was a joke right?

Let’s crowdfund a summer vacay in Pakistan for her.

When I read “Sam Harris and Bill Maher and Richard Dawkins want really badly for me to criticize Islam” I interpret that to mean they called out this blogger (at least I presume she is a blogger) personally. Granted, I didin’t read through her whole thing nor click on all the links, but I didn’t find any sign that Harris et al mentioned her by name, or that her opinion matters to anyone other than her mom and her tapeworm.

Please stop giving oxygen to these obscure bloggers who feel the need to announce their opinion as if the whole world were waiting with bated breath to hear it. Can we make a rule that before you cite a blog, it should have more than 50 actual readers?

    • Clausewitz

Most of today’s Feminist bloggers, and youtubers are nothing more than sexist, narcissistic, airheads. Case in point………..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYGNTJEtR_A

    • I thought it was revealing of a certain mindset. She’s far from the only one.

      • Jabberwokk

The stupid…it burns us! it freezes!

  • Drunk_by_Noon

So, if I pointed out that this was from two years ago, would you hate me?

    • Clausewitz

Nothing has changed in the past two years. Still relevant.

      • BillyHW

Indeed, women have been voting for about a hundred years, and it’s still a big problem.

        • El Martyachi

In fairness, not all women vote.

          • Xavier

More proof of the massive damage done by the ones who do.

          • BillyHW

There ought to be some sort of reward for that.

        • Surele Surele

some of us vote the right way

          • BillyHW

How some of you vote doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is how most of you vote.

          • moraywatson

            With a pencil ?

          • Surele Surele

      • Alain

I would say that things have changed from two years ago in that they have got worse and continue getting worse, and yet there remains people, especially Western feminists, with the same mindset.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

No, just some light-hearted ribbing from the same mistake I made a couple of week ago.

        • Clausewitz

In the words of Tom Hanks from the movie That Thing you Do, “Keep it light, keep it snappy”. 😉

  • Clink9

The crazy is so deep sometimes. Even as the blade is slicing through their neck meat they still can’t admit Islam is wrong.

    • BillyHW

The crazy gene is on that second X chromosome.

    • luna

The author lives in a bubble.

I won’t take the bait of a patronizing call for feminists to set aside their goals in America to address problems in Muslim theocracies…

  • Hard Little Machine

I hope you are impregnated by Muslim rape and then beheaded after you deliver your requisite shahid

  • Drunk_by_Noon

These feminist chicks are quite insane.

  • Jabberwokk

“I won’t take the bait of a patronizing call for feminists to set aside
their goals in America to address problems in Muslim theocracies…”

Take this statement. Just this one. And consider this other one:

“The reason why the Left won’t confront Islam is because Cultural Marxism was designed to destroy the west and not Islam”

The goals of feminists in America contrasted with the goals of Marxism is the west.

They are the traitors at the gates.

  • canminuteman

Some people are so stupid, it isn’t worth arguing with them,

  • In short, this woman is a useless, mouth-breathing pu$$y, a coward and a hypocrite who won’t even jump on the safety of the band wagon the way Dawkins did.

  • bargogx1

What a nice little justification for hypocrisy.

  • moraywatson

    What a maroon !

  • DMB

Because both (at least the vast majority) hate western civilization.
