I subscribed to that IsraeliPM channel. Good to see the Israelis fighting on all fronts.

    Re: Bank Bail-in

In fairness, provisions for this were also written in under Harper. Little surprised the Liberal opposition didn’t make hay out of it then… Unless of course the banks made sure they were paid up with both sides, as is increasingly the norm.

And now what everyone is waiting for, the Toronto Star weekend edition. The Star celebrates Easter with a front page story on how stupid Christians are. And it continues the story inside. That’s about it for their Easter coverage. I’m sure they will have a story making fun of Islam during ramadan. All Star writers are following orders to only use the word Daesh when describing terrorism. Major stories on trans gender perversion, and of course whiny indians. Editorial is on how evil Hitler Harper is. Heart warming stories on Syrian refugees and Tony Burman blaming the West for islam being islam. The funniest thing I read all week though, is Heather Mallick writing today how she is constantly being sexually harassed and groped by men, including her co-workers. Because we all know what a hottie she is.

I couldn’t read that paper without blood pressure medication. Glad to see someone has a stronger constitution than me.

Pretend you’re reading a less-funny version of the Onion, and try to get a chuckle out of it.

      • Millie_Woods

I don’t read it either. I’m afraid of getting visual aids.

      • Waffle

I couldn’t read it even WITH my BP meds.

There was also a great Star article earlier this week – Useless idiots complaining that the Mo’s they want to sponsor didn’t show up.

Don’t let your community be palmed off with a few Afghans or Somalis. Hold out for the real deal, Syrian jihadis.

Mallick piece sounds like satire, which is probably by accident. Can’t be bothered to look it up because I’m consciously cutting down on brain pollution. Pulled the plug a couple of months ago on cable. Have also stopped listening to 1010. Am now trying AM640 — will let you know.

Another brilliant piece by David Goldman (aka Spengler):

But most Republicans voting in primaries so far don’t agree. And Teddy is running out of states to win delegates.

    • Thanks!

This news cheered me up this morning — mom shoots intruder.

    • I want one of those signs.

Russia denies entry to Pakistanis that arrivbed at Moscow on Turkish Airlines flight
The Russian authorities denied entry to 84 Pakistan business professionals, 49 of whom were from Rawalpindi.
After looking over their documents, Pakistani authorities determined that their visas were genuine and that Russian immigration authorities had denied them entry without a reason.
All these passengers had been awarded a trip to Russia by a mobile phone distribution company for achieving their sales targets.

Perhaps they had Latvian phrase books in their baggage.

Contender for the crappiest reward ever!

      • Millie_Woods

How about a free trip to Pakistan?

        • El Martyachi

Ok that would be pretty crappy. Especially for Pakistanis.

          reminded me of this:

In January 1995, while working in Winnipeg, Connors was given a week’s suspension by CJKR-FM management after he announced a contest where selected listeners could watch Super Bowl XXIX in Miami. 1200 listeners submitted their entries by fax of whom 30 were chosen to meet Connors at Winnipeg International Airport. However, the winners boarded a bus at the airport rather than a plane, and their destination was Miami, Manitoba to watch the game on a monochrome television at Chatterbox Lounge. Connors reacted to the controversy stating “How was I supposed to know Miami was in Florida?”

I fell out of my chair laughing when I got to “Pakistan business professionals”
