Hunt for Paris massacre jihadists after shootout in Brussels: Three police officers injured and gunman on run

A major manhunt was underway for suspects linked to the Paris massacre after three police officers were injured and a gunman went on the run during an anti-terror raid in Brussels.

Two men with Kalashnikov assault rifles opened fire on officers when they prepared to storm a suspected jihadi safehouse in the Belgian capital.

One of the gunmen fled in the chaos, prompting armed police to lock down the area.

Residents were ordered to stay indoors and a primary school close to the scene was cordoned off.

A helicopter flew overhead and police commandos were deployed. Snipers also surrounded the building where other suspects are believed to holed up.

Report from Brussels is that one of the gunmen has been “neutralized”.
Are they shooting below the belt?
