York University accused of allowing anti-Semitism to spread

Shelley Yachaev has watched the anti-Israel propaganda at York University evolve over the four years she’s been there from being very much in one’s face to a well-crafted “strategic” effort that has infiltrated the entire system.

Yachaev, who moved to Canada from Israel at age 12 and is president of the Israeli Students Union at York, says “every little part” of the university has been infiltrated with anti-Semitism.

In fact, she says, some of her own professors have endorsed the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement — an international Palestinian-led movement that seeks to demonize the Jewish state.

This past October, the York Federation of Students (YFS) formed an official alliance with the Students against Israeli Apartheid group, she adds.

Lol York “University”. More like Day-Care Centre.

Does she mean that York University President Mamdouh Shoukri doesn’t care about his school’s Jewish students?

    • That’s right;)

Where the heck have you been?

A good report by Sue-Ann Levy, a fine writer. To fight the anti-Jewish hate there, there has to be a fight on all fronts. There has to be guerilla warfare (any suggestions?) and there has to be formal above board warfare, such as a formal boycott of the horrid school (attendance, charity donations).

David, contrast Sue-Ann’s piece with this that is currently running in the CJN. :

The posted CJN article makes for compelling reading. One rolls his eyes at the drivel stated by the JStreet writer, but the other writers say important things. And I like Danielle Shachar’s piece. A couple of points:

        1. The CJN presumably is a well-read paper, yet despite the tragic situation at York U., only one reader bothered to write a post at the end of the article;

        2. the left-wing Globe and Mail, in covering the House of Commons vote on the BDS movement, had one of its anti-Semitic writers (Patrick Martin) write about the vote:
        http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/parliament-votes-to-reject-campaign-to-boycott-israel/article28863810/.

But all this Jew-hater did was to write a biased essay supporting the anti-Semitic BDS movement, not bothering to report what the MPS said or did. What was interesting was that Martin’s rant cased scarcely a ripple in the Jewish community. Jew hatred is becoming mainstream in our corporate media, yet fwe seem to care.

What needs to be done is that real, serious economic damage needs to be done to York University, the Globe and Mail, and other anti-Semitic institutions.

The CJN is now the ONLY voice of the Jewish community in Canada, mainly because of the funding it receives. CIJN — a Canadian/Israeli start-up has yet to gain traction although it provides superior journalism.

The plagiarizing editor of the CJN was formerly a copy editor at the National Post working under Jonathan Kay (need I say more?). The other Jewish newspaper — B’nai Brith’s Jewish Tribune – appears to be out of business.

If the Jewish community is a microcosm of the larger community, most people do not have a clue of what’s really going on. Most could care less unless it really affects them in a way that hurts. The attitude is that the obscenely-paid professionals are hired and paid to take care of uncomfortable and controversial matters. Our wussified young people were not raised as Zionists as weere my generation and haven’t a clue how to combat and defend themselves in the face of this virulent and organized anti-semitism. A lot of Jews even refuse to believe it is really happening. Hence the negativity and smearing of organizations like JDL-Canada.

The President Mo and staff at York don’t give a rat’s ass about what’s going on at York re Anti-Semitism. They couldn’t care less that Jews are abandoning York (telling their high school kids “AWBY – Anywhere But York”)…
For those Jewish kids currently attending the high school at Keele and Steeles in Toronto… I have spoken to cousins kids – they run to class and then get the Hell off campus afterwards not engaging in any extra curricular activities.
Just as the Toronto Star (and Crescent) abandoned the Jews of the GTA so has York and neither give a damn…. since there are now more Mo’s in the GTA than Jews….they seem to think they know where their pita is buttered.
