Canada Supreme Court

The Totalitarian Imposition of Assisted Suicide in Canada

The story of euthanasia in Canada officially began a year ago this February 6th, when the Supreme Court of Canada decreed that the laws forbidding murder-suicide for compassionate reasons were “unconstitutional,” and commanded the Parliament of Canada to frame a law legalizing such physician-assisted suicide.

  • Liberal Progressive

But euthanasia would produce lots of needed housing spaces needed for all the refugees plus open up hospital beds and places in seniors homes the newcomers will need!

    • Well there’s that.

      • Mandatory euthanasia for the “progressive” believers.

        • Observer

          And Liberal Party members!

  • G

The social engineering court of canada has long since gone way over the top in it’s arrogance and elitism.

Now, not only do they instruct the government on what laws they approve of but who is allowed to be a SCOC justice and how long the government has to change laws they don’t like.

It’s getting pretty ridiculous really. I also notice all the lawyers in the country show what complete self serving, cowards they are by not protesting. Oh well, scumbags cover for scumbags, right?

    • David

All the lawyers you speak of, they would be the ones who vote to deny graduates of Trinity Western University the right to join law societies and practice their trade in Canada. No surprise then that they are also for killing the old, the young, and the in between.

      • Clausewitz

        You nailed it………

    • DavidinNorthBurnaby

We can thank Turdeau the Elder and his infernal Charter for this travesty of democracy of unelected judges making laws

  • CodexCoder

We are ruled by an oligarchy called the SCOC. It is the one body that has absolute authority in Canada, and I, as a citizen, have no means of communicating with that body, cannot force that body to reconsider, cannot dismiss the members of that body for poor reasoning, or affect change in that body over time as the appointments are for life, and even the Parliament cannot change their edicts.

This issue lays on the shoulders of the first Trudeau.

  • Ron MacDonald

Judges are to interpret the law, not write it. Who granted them the authority to command parliament to write laws they alone deem acceptable?

    • WalterBannon

you need to respect your betters and do what you are told in our wonderful socialist utopia…

    • Alain

Trudeau Sr. granted them that authority. While he did insert the not withstanding clause due to pressure from Quebec, outside of Quebec not a single politician has had the guts to invoke it.

      • Ron MacDonald

Unfortunately only Saskatchewan has a right of centre government.

    • infedel

uphold not interpret…that ‘interpretation’ is how the West got to point of the judges legislating. The law would be clear if not written by lawyers.

      • Ron MacDonald

        You’re right.

    • DavidinNorthBurnaby

      Turdeau 1.0

  • WalterBannon

Lets just call this what it is. Medical malpractice and first degree murder. Any physician participating in this should have their licence to practice revoked.

    • Clausewitz

Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? They’ve gone from “Do no harm” to “Hello Doctor Mengele” in the past ten years.

  • FactsWillOut

Well, so far, in Canada, not one single doctor has been forced against his will to perform an abortion. Not one. Ever.
Not one single doctor will be forced to kill a patient, either.
Has no-one heard of palliative care?

    • How many politicians will line up defending a doctor or nurse’s right not perform abortions or take part in euthanasia?

And you are wrong about the utterly coercive environment in which doctors and nurses labour.

      • G

F.W.O. Osumashi is right. The internal politics and administrative/ministerial ass kissing that goes on in the medical field especially within the professional associations is ridiculous.

There are …”doctors and…”nurses” who haven’t actually spoken to a real patient or even been on a med/surg floor in years. They pick up king’s ransom paycheques have edless bullshit meetings on administrative fluff like “mission statements” and kissing politician’s asses. Unfortunately THEY are the ones who have all the power. The regular working physician or nurse do what they are told or face professional censure.

Like in all other segments of society in the medical profession it is the most useless members who hold the most authority.

        • There are doctors and nurses who refuse to take part in these acts and are threatened with punishment if they don’t.

We are witnessing decent people being expelled from all walks of life for doing what is right.

  • DavidinNorthBurnaby

I could make a few exceptions: Justin, Merkel, Hitlery …
