MP’s need more money for expenses in order to work less

MPs give themselves and House officers a $25M boost to office budgets

MPs and other officers of Parliament are giving themselves a $25-million office budget increase that will kick in as of April 1, 2016, CBC News has learned.

The 20 per cent increase to MPs’ office budgets means each MP will be able to spend an additional $57,690 on top of the current budget of $288,450.

Multiply that by the 338 MPs that make up the House of Commons, and MPs’ budgets alone jump by nearly $20 million to a new total of almost $117 million a year.

Evidently our MP’s need more money for expenses in order to work less – MPs looking for work-family balance may say goodbye to Friday sittings

Whatever happened to value for money?

I typed this on the Censorship Bureau of Canada’s site and tried to post it twice and got their moderator message…….
Many workers work away from home or have to work 2 jobs to make enough money to support their families after paying taxes to support these parasites with their self imposed wage increases, shortened work weeks and constant holidays. These self important leeches have salaries and benefits that most Canadians can only dream of yet we have to pay for it. So what if you have to work long hours away from your family, nobody forced you to take this job. All of you went out and worked hard to get elected when you knew that you would be required to be away from home and your families were aware of the demands that would be put on their lives when they decided to support your quest to achieve these high wages and great benefits. Maybe if you actually tried to do your jobs and help Canadians who have hired you and pay your bloated wages people wouldn’t look at you like the narcissistic pompous wannabe nobility that you have become.

    • Why am I not surprised.

Yes, it is the Liberal Party doing what the Liberal Party always does.

I would make the joke that Turdeau needs more money to buy film for all the selfies but nowdays nobody uses film cameras.

I wonder sometimes what that did to the silver market.

  • Allan

I guess someone took a turd, painted it gold and sold it as a golden brick. They are still turds.

If it had the same density no one would notice.

  • And we expected them to do things differently?

    Oh, and Mike Duffy.

Hey, Justin screwed us with his Bill for 2 Nannies . In order the shut up that people around his he is shelling out more of OUR money .
How sad that those Minority Quota’s in a party as MP’s are just useful idiots for the Liberals to buy votes from their people as Justin drive the Country into the ground.

So far the wealthy white Liberals haven’t seen the unwashed or non-whites crashing into their Neighbourhoods. Liberals have gotten away with their mythical
racist/homophobe/ islamophobe/ misogynist that they drag out each Election to play the Good Guy White person as it;s all those OTHER people that are the bad ones.
When the Rapefugees and pro-ISIS thugs come for them there will be few people rushing in the rescue them ……most of the Cops or RCMP will be Quota people that finally woke up and saw who the real racists Oppressors are in those White Neighbourhoods of Judges, lawyers and Politicians.
