GOP Donors Looking to Fund an Independent White House Bid

With Donald Trump poised to sweep the Super Tuesday primaries and put a death grip on the nomination, the Republican donor class is beginning to panic. Some GOP donors have engaged a Florida firm to research options for putting forward an independent to run in the fall against Trump and presumably, Hillary Clinton.

I guess the RNC wants Hillary to win. They don’t want the people choosing their own candidate for president.

    • Xavier

The Uniparty would rather see Hillary than Trump or Cruz.

      • It sure seems that way.

      • John

        Exactly, The Uniparty.

    • The RNC is a bunch of idiots. The populace is speaking loud.

The only thing the RNC could do is split the republican vote. How the hell is that going to help the republican agenda.

If they do this asinine move, Clinton (vomit) or Sanders (vomit and puke) will win.

      • Xavier

They’re going after a brokered convention. That splits the delegate’s votes, and if no candidate receives more than 50% on the first vote then the delegates are released and can vote for anyone they choose.

Anyone. Like iJeb! or Rubio or even someone who isn’t a candidate right now. Anyone.

People say “they wouldn’t do that – it would cause a revolt” but the GOP has no idea what the American people are thinking. They don’t care, either. They just want to stay in DC, and being the minority party is still a good ride.

  • Dana Garcia

The amnesty poodle Rubio is available, probably. He’ll do anything to be the big honcho in the WH.

wild and crazy idea of Barry staying on as Pres not so crazy now

      It’s funny because it’s true.

    • Did she promise free phones?

Some of us hold differing opinions on the GOP candidates but that’s immaterial. The left and the right are so corrupt, so entrenched in DC elitism, and so scared that someone is going to upset their little power and money producing apple cart that they will do anything to protect it. The right are conniving weasels and the left are violent totalitarians; they aren’t going to allow Trump or Cruz to win. We are about to witness election fraud and crimes never before seen in this country.

    • Exile1981

I’m pretty sure we saw massive election fraud in 2012.

      • Xavier

Have I been asleep that long?

        • Exile1981

fixed my typo. tiny buttons on my cell.

          • Xavier

I knew what you meant, and I agree. I expect this election to make that fraud look like child’s play.

If for no other reason than this is Hillary’s only shot.

            Bush tried to kill Reagan.
            Think he’ll try it again?

          • Xavier

            Reagan’s already dead.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

            He survived, then.

  • Raymond Hietapakka

    Oprah!

  • DavidinNorthBurnaby

The thought of that horrible, horrible witch Hitlery as POTUS is too ghastly to contemplate without throwing up a bit in my mouth. 🙁 And this would *guarantee* it.

    • dance…dancetotheradio

She’s not in it to win it.
She’s in it to stay out of jail.

      • Xavier

        Even more incentive.

    • Alain

That describes perfectly how I feel with short-pants Trudeau as PM.

  • Brett_McS

Draft George Bush Senior! He only had one term, so he can run for another.

  • simus1

The advent of panic hitting corrupt billionaire rent seekers because the “wrong” presidential candidate leads the race.is somehow both restful and satisfying.

  • BillyHW

I wish the GOP would fight this hard to defeat the Democrats.

  • terrnce

Yet another example of the old truism that says, “The Democrat Party is the evil party, and the Republican Party is the stupid party.

  • John

They can never, ever allow the popular will to express itself. Trump has come to embody that will and so voting for him will actually count for something. Americans, and in particular White Americans, have been disenfranchised for decades. Shit…Bush-Clinton, Clinton-Bush. America’s elites, both Democrat and Republican, are working like crazy to get rid of Trump. If they can’t and if, in a race against Hillary, Trump looks to be winning, what extremes will the plutocrats go to?

Trump has galvanized/woken White America, and they’re very, very angry.
