Germany fines man for ‘blasphemous’ car bumper stickers

A retired teacher in Germany has been fined €500 (£400) for defaming Christianity under the country’s rarely enforced blasphemy laws.

Albert Voss, a former physics teacher and avowed atheist, was convicted of blasphemy after he daubed the rear window of his car with anti-Christian slogans.

The 66-year-old drove around his home city of Münster, in western Germany, with the slogans clearly displayed.

Gee, here in Sunny Ways Canada, Trudeau would personally give him the Order of Canada.

    • He would be made a human rights commissioner.

I think the local united church minister has the same bumper sticker.

I am a Christian and the man is entitled to his opinion and his lack of taste. Neither is fatal nor deserving of a fine. If I don’t defend his right to speak, who will defend mine? And God allows free speech in the same manner that He allows free will.

    • I suspect something more sinister afoot.

As so I, but the principal is the same. And yes, the target will become the Christians when the Muslim population of that German province becomes large enough.

“when the Muslim population of that German province becomes large enough”.

The Christians are already the target

The token arrest of an anti-christian?
To be followed by hundreds of arrests of anti-muzzies?
Even journalists should be able to see through this…

Well… what makes you think that HE would be tolerant and defend YOUR right to proselytize on behalf of your religion?
I bet he wouldn’t, and reciprocity matters.
Somebody that hates Christianity that much that they make their own car into an anti-Christian billboard would likely open up Hitler’s ovens just to put you in them.
I’m tired of being tolerant of the intolerant.
