In basketball culture and vernacular, the phrases ‘poster-ize someone’, or ‘put someone on a poster’, refer to the act of dunking on someone is such a spectacular fashion that it ends up on a poster.
The NBA uploaded just a few hours ago a video of the Toronto Raptors’ DeMar Derozan getting a good dunk on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Shabazz Muhammad.
It only took about an hour and a half for a Muslim to call me a ‘racist cunt’ after I commented…..
‘DeMar shows us all how to put Muhammad on a poster. wink’
‘W’ = ‘win’
‘L’ = ‘loss’
Commenters on NBA video threads can’t even take the time to type ‘win’ or ‘loss’.
‘Take this L’ is a common response to others’ attempts to be clever/witty.
A poster I bought when I was 12, and I still have 25 years later…..
Michael Jordan, 1988-89ish.
All that Magic Johnson can do is watch.
(The poster itself does not have ‘Michael Jordan’ printed in the top right-hand corner.)
