Twin brothers, 17, die and their six friends are seriously injured after climbing on to Calgary’s Olympic bobsled track at 1:30am and crashing their sled at high speed

Teenage twin brothers died after using their own sled to go down a bobsled track after-hours at the Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

Jordan and Evan Caldwell, both 17, crashed into a large gate used to separate the luge and bobsled tracks, police said.

Six other teenage boys were injured on the same track and taken to hospital.

The twins’ families paid tribute to them in a statement

‘We were reminded today that life is but a vapor,’ the family said.

Why were they out at 1:30 am?

I tell my kids nothing good happens after midnight.

Why do all the reports say “after hours”. That Implies that they were doing some after hour “training”. When in reality they were at the least trespassing. Those that survived should face some manslaughter charges, vandalism. and the trespassing but they will be mourned and may even get a payout from some insurance the track had. They could have done serious damage to the track using a toboggan and not a proper bobsled that if they did not crash it would still have to be shut down to repair the ice. When someone breaks and enters they don’t say they did some after hours shopping.

Okay, who the heck has their own bobsled?

A local paper reported it as them using crazy carpets.

These young men had the same amount of sense as someone trying to ride one of those dumpsters fitted with caster wheels down a steep hill at 3:00 AM.

It’s a surefire recipe for disaster.
