Americans concerned about Canadian refugee strategy

American politicians want to know if Syrian refugees let into Canada are going to pose a threat to their own national security.

“We have a pretty unsecure border with Canada,” Ron Johnson, a Republican senator from Wisconsin said Wednesday. “Islamic terror represents a threat. It’s real. It’s growing.”

Johnson is chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which heard testimony from Canadians at a hearing.

Back when Canada was mostly Canadian born white people (30-years ago) the border check consisted of asking if you has any fruits or vegetables that might contain certain insects that would harm local agriculture. Beyond that it was a perfunctory wave-through and then an “enjoy your stay of an indertiminate length Mr. Or Mrs. Canadian”.
Now, vibrancy and diversity prevents such niceties.
You gave up a lot and paid for the privilege Canada, but what did you get in return?

I liked the old ways better.
One paradox is that if you have open borders with the third world, you can’t then keep them open with the rest of the first world.

….. but Canada could be the new Greece.

Why not? The US is the new Rome.

      • Justin St.Denis

That’s ONTARIO, and it is already there!

    • Exile1981

Except that the US southern border is more open than the northern one

    • Trudeau’s diversity will expedite the Balkanization of Canada.

Trudeau will be out of office by then, but his foolish policies will result in lots of Canadian blood in the streets.

A question for Trudeau: Hey Justin, can you show me any place on the globe where large numbers of Muslims get along with the original indigenous population?

      Don’t expect an answer.

      • Alain

How true. We have still not recovered from the destruction caused by Trudeau Sr., and now we have this bunch of unelected radicals pulling the puppet’s strings.

      • dance…dancetotheradio

Trudeau’s diversity will expedite the Republic of Western Canada.

    • The Butterfly

What did we get in return? I’m glad you asked. The most fragrant cab rides in the whole gosh entire world!

Canadian conservatives, – (real conservatives – not politicians) should write letters to the editors of newspapers in areas of the U.S. hard hit by NAFTA detailing:

    – crimes by middle east migrants in Canada,
    – Canadian immigration screw ups,
    – absurd decisions against deportation by Canadian judges ect ect.
    – a selectively edited version of the Omar Khadr saga with Dennis Edney’s name & actions prominently described as well as Khadr’s fawning treatment by the canadian press.

Do this to give the impression that Canadians a hot bed of terrorists just waiting to spill over the border and canadians are unwilling & too cowardly to do anything about it (basically true).

In areas of the U.S. where Canadians are unpopular to begin with this may prove fruitful during primaries. >:D

    • Justin St.Denis

But Canada IS a hot bed of terrorists and their sympathizers, not to mention that Canada is the North American epicentre of anti-Americanism. Tired of always being seen as second-rate and also-ran, Canadians decided to excel at lying and hating, which they do to a MUCH greater extent (this has been documented) than their American counterparts.

Canada has always had at its heart a huge place reserved for hypocrisy, the greatest legacy it derived from its British masters. I suspect it is the discomfort of relinquishing this core hypocrisy that is the reason why Canada is still part of the “British Commonwealth”.

I hate to point this out, but immigrants from non-British source countries will eventually LIBERATE Canada from this bondage. Anglo-Canadians could NEVER accomplish this on their own.

      • Minicapt

If Canada didn’t excist, the US would be in a quandary.

        Cheers

        I’ve never been anti-American.
Except when a Democrat is President.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

Even we go anti-American then! 🙂

      • Alain

It is incorrect to state that Canadians are anti-American. Even the Canadian Left is only anti-American when the United States does not follow the same game plan. Every time the United States is run by leftists, the Canadian Left thinks Americans are great. As for “liberating” Canada from its “bondage” (our British traditions and history), that was exactly what Trudeau Sr. and the Liberals just about did, and we are now paying the price: multiculturalism, official bilingualism and diversity, replacing our flag with a Liberal rag, etc.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

I’ve always said that Canada was the “North Korea” of North America.
        😉

        • Justin St.Denis

Well, let’s just say that “rugged individuality” is usually regarded as VERY Un-Canadian in my experience. Note the many Canadian inventors who end up in the USA because they value what they invented and feel they deserve credit and MONEY, two things Canadians are loathe to bestow. I wish it were otherwise, because I generally prefer living in Canada over living in the USA right now. But that, too, could change…. Justin Trudeau’s reign of destruction has only just begun. If the USA invests a President Trump in 2017, we may well relocate to the USA thereafter.

  • canminuteman

I understand that there is a security threat from the northern border, but if Americans were truly concerned about the security of there borders they wouldn’t demonstrate with with 40 million odd illegal aliens and sanctuary cities.

The people who have allowed this are with malice aforethought trying to destroy the United States, and should be treated like the traitors they are.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

Not really. In most instances that’s a myth.
Go to the border crossing at Otay Mesa (the one closest to my house) and try to enter the U.S..
You will have a 4-5 hour (or longer) wait if you are on foot.
That’s not exactly free flowing when in 2008 it used to be about 15-minutes.

      • Concerned Canadian

Well then, I guess those 20 million or so illegals that are roaming around the States unmolested where beamed over the border so they did not have to wait in line.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

          Si senor!
They are getting SMUGGLED IN, they are not walking across and staying or of they are, they are coming over with valid documentation and then staying after of course they were “carefully vetted”.
          See where I’m going here?

I think it might be time for another unauthorized (by BCF) song contest with no prizes other than the admiration of your fellow BCF readers.

What do you think might be Justin Trudeau’s favourite song with his naive utopian view of the world?

I will start it off with two possiblities:

Jihadists will respect national borders, just like they do in Iraq/Syria, Afghanistan/Pakistan and Nigeria/Cameroon.

  • Millie_Woods

I’m sure the Americans will be relieved to hear that we’re implementing the same rigorous security standards as they practice along their border with Mexico.

Seriously though, this is the time to start hardening border controls on both sides. Thanks to diversity the days of worry-free borders are over.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

Unless you are talking 5-hour wait times for pedestrian traffic at the US Canadian border, I think it would be nothing like that.

  • andycanuck

It’s okay. The Central American and Mexican gang-banger narco-terrorists Obama and the GOPe let into the States will take care of the “Syrian” “refugees”.

  • Oracle9

Regarding the pooftication of Western masculine will to even speak the truth, let alone act to defend, the following is a link referenced this morning from Vlad Tepes blog. A little feel-good news compiled only from the Russian people on social media.

    http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/02/migrants-in-murmansk-go-too-far-with.html

There may be hope if we decide to lift a finger to solve the problem, as did the good men of Murmansk.

  • Physics grad

The answer is yes, it is a threat. I suggest that you close the border at once.

    • Alain

It is even more of a threat for we Canadians. Not saying the Americans have no reason to be concerned.

  • useless opinion

As a Canadian I will tell the Americans to shut the border, profile everyone who wants to cross. Do not think that our new prime minister has your security in his mind. He hates you and so does his cabinet.

    • Alain

They hate Canadians even more, otherwise he would not have had the same backers and handlers as Obama.

      • Justin St.Denis

Obama ensured that MILLIONS of dollars poured into Canada to ensure Shiny Pony’s victory, so to speak. If Vlad Putin were to arrange a nuclear poisoning of our PM and I somehow knew about it, my lips would be sealed. Fact is, the entire world would be better off if particulars on the world stage were terminated. Shiny Pony is one of them.
