A rich history with a bankrupt future.

  • Well, it gave them curry, so….

      …and rape.

      • I prefer the curry.

Some say that curry powder was invented by the British army.

          • Curry powder is alright for those thirty minute supper fixes.

            One must make one’s own.

The really amazing thing about the British Empire was it ran so amazingly well for about 85% of its lifespan and required so few Brits to get involved.

For much of the Empire Imperial rule and investment was a terrific boost. Some parts, India, Hong Kong, the Dominions have done amazingly well. Other parts, notably African ex-colonies and majority Muslim states have sunk back into pre-colonial barbarism. Some faster than others.

Mixed bag really. But the 50 years of Pax Britannica were a gift to the world shattered by WWI.
