Overnight Thread…

It’s over, the holidays are done for another year. The real world begins again tomorrow.

Rats.

  • Tomorrow is already here — I intend to remain in denial for a while. My excuse? The Orthodox Christmas isn’t until next week.

    😉

As a residual Catholic I shut down Christmas on the epiphany.

      • As a residual Christian in general, I shut it down on the day after Halloween, the latter once known as the holy eve of All Saints Day.

My wife knew Dusty in the sixties. Dusty had a crush on her and bought her a lovely little gold engraved jewelry case from Birks. Mrs Spatchcocked also separated Buddy Rich from Dusty once when they had a rather tense disagreement. Dusty was basically Irish…….with a luverly voice.

Yes….and Dusty was wigs….all the time.

And Buddy and his band in their dressing room? One could hardly see across the room for reefer smoke. Reefer is what they called maranoia back then. Tsk tsk tsk.

An acquaintance would meet Buddy in town…both drummers. They’d test 300 or more drumsticks for soundness…chuck the doubtful ones.

The owner of the club was forever ensuring NO black acts were ever alone with his female employees.

All gone now…..the club the acts just memories now except me and my little Limey pop tart who Dusty had here eye on…………there’s a hit song in there somewhere.

A friend of the pop tart was called when Little Richard was in town……she’d clean and recondition his toupees…..I don’t sense a hit song there though.

The next six weeks are usually the toughest climb – whenever Global Warming takes its extended vacation.
