They don’t make Christmas movies like they used to

“…Dignity and nobility are in short supply these days, onscreen and off, so I suppose that explains why our contemporary iterations of Dickens’ story have become so unconvincing. With Willie and Bad Santa, however, we’ve been given the Scrooge we deserve.”

  • Now, you have the schmaltz or vulgarity.

    There is nothing much else.

I finally watched It’s a Wonderful Life a couple years ago, and had to restrain myself from yelling at the TV. George Bailey’s approach to banking is very similar to what caused the 2008 financial meltdown.

In 2015, a movie entitled TRAINWRECK and starring a woman called Amy Schumer was released. It encapsulates everything that is “wrong” with the contemporary film business. I have recommended people watch this abomination just to see their reactions. Every single person who got back to me revealed they could not sit through the film. Pure tastelessness rendered accurately by a purely tasteless woman. Oddly, this dysfunctional bitch is becoming an entertainment fixture. Go figure! In an ideal world, Amy Schumer dies young from a drug overdose or STDs.
