Bystanders interfering with arrest disturbing

The latest incident is just as ugly as two other recent situations I have written about: One in Yonge-Dundas Square where officers on bicycles were hit with bottles; and a second in an area with public housing in the Grassways where attending police officers had chunks of concrete thrown at them and kids and adults disgracefully yelled “shoot the pigs.”

This time, the disgusting incident involved an officer at an LCBO outlet, located inside the Sheridan Mall at Jane St. and Wilson Ave.

Jane and Wilson is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood.

Immigrants bringing enrichment to an already diverse tapestry of residents make for vibrant communities.

    • Its very multicultural.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

Multiculturalism is the establishment’s attempt to sell a declining standard of living as something that is desirable.
In other words, it’s a pernicious lie that will put your life at risk if you believe it.

        • Exile1981

I tell people that milticulturalism is a sin; since it’s a form of suicide.

          • Good one.

          • Exile1981

I brought it up with the town idiot (one of 3 ndp supporyers in town) and he nearly had a heart attack and went all red in the face over it.

I didn’t know you knew John Tory personally.

          • Exile1981

tory would be a big step up from this guy. He was mayor in the 70’s and nearly bankrupt the town trying to set up soup kitcgens for natives from the local reserve.

    • Last September activists from that area held an event: “September Day of Action: Food Justice* FOOD IS A HUMAN RIGHT ! Join the Jane and Finch Community as we take to the streets and demand FOOD JUSTICE! Saturday September 12, Noon, Jane and Finch, Facebook Event”

One of their demands was: “Remove security guards and undercover police from grocery stores in predominantly racialized and working-class communities (high-income and/or largely white neighbourhoods do not have visible security presence).”

Obviously, the cop interfered with the sacred right of the “racialized community” to steal booze.

The LCBO and any other store with any valuables should close up and move from such areas. If the residents want to act like savages, they shouldn’t have the benefits of civilized society. Stop all TTC routes in the area and wall up the scum.

    • Toronto? It’s a lost cause. In twenty years this city will look like Detroit.

      • Mark

Keele from Wilson north to Steeles. Over to the 400 and south again. That would take care of a lot of the more useless parts of Toronto, including York U.

      • Exile1981

        so when are you fleeing?

Many stores in the area will end up closing. This has happened in areas of Atlanta where stores have been robbed, looted and even burned so many times the chain stores simply closed and never came back. The city of Atlanta even had an incentive program to reopen certain essential stores ( food markets etc) because locals had to go miles to shop.

But even at that there were no takers.

A few years from now when the assholes in this video find themselves in a similar situation, they’ll blame it all on racism.

The exodus always begins with the closing of booze stores…for obvious reasons.

I don’t know about the Gta but in Ottawa the immigrants can do no wrong its all the white mans fault.

During my first years living in Canada (I was 21 to 25 then), in the early 1970s, I lived above a small fish warehouse on Clarence Street in the Bytown area of Ottawa. Across the street, at the corner of Parent and Clarence, there as a bar/brothel, known for having occasional barfights. When one ensured, here is what the police would do. They would come with five or six cars, all at once, with sirens wailing and lights flashing. The two or three drunks doing the fighting would stare at the six cars coming, bleary eyed, and would immediately stop fighting and submit to being arrested peaceably. Who wouldn’t? Note that the Bytown would be patrolled by a single officer, who would phone in the reinforcements, instead of breaking up the fight on his own.

So how long did this arrest take? The video last 16 minutes. Where was this officer’s support? Some of this is the police management’s fault.

This is a compelling video that makes me angry at the type of hoods who live at this district. The media should name and shame the hoods, but they won’t. The media will hush up this video, since the corporate media support the hoods.

From 1965 to 1969 I used to live near Jane and Wilson. In those days you would have referred to the area as “Watership Down” now it is “Blackhawk Down” and this comes right from the local fire hall. Years ago my daughter asked me to drive through where I grew up, I said to her, “Do you have a weapon and a backup on you?” So we went for our drive, and my massively liberal daughter became a conservative in 15 seconds of our journey. It is no mystery that you can find a person with a bench warrant every 30 feet in that area, and this does not include illegal aliens most of whom are from Africa. The difference between the rest of Ontario and this little corner of it is that when the police affect an arrest, we help them out. Every person who interfered should have gotten the baton and boot, this would clarify immediately, their duty of citizenship.

Sadly this is just the outcome of two things: a failed immigration policy and ceasing imposing the rule of law many years ago.
