Vladimir Putin claims Turkey shot down Russian jet to protect oil trade with Isil

Vladimir Putin on Monday accused Turkey of secretly purchasing oil from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), and claimed that the decision to shoot down a Russian warplane last week was motivated by the desire to protect the flow of oil from the terrorist group.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish president, denied the allegations and said he would resign if it could be proved that Turkey had bought oil from Isil.

I don’t trust either of them but Turkey seems less trustworthy.

  • I knew it. Ezra has been behind this conspiracy all along.

Once again, I hope Vlad will sever the Kurdish region from Turkey in response.

  • Now that Erdogan has vehemently denied Putin’s allegation, Putin should call his bluff and bomb the heck out of ISIL oil assets.

There is a degree of truth in Putin’s words.
I’m digging up dirt on Erdogan’s son as we speak.

I have to back Vlad on this one.

Unfortunately Turkey is a member of NATO so PM Selfie and President Buckwheat will end up backing the one most at odds with Canadians. I wish these idiots in power in North America would finally act wisely and back Putin.

Remind me again what part of the North Atlantic Turkey resides upon.

I think it all has something to do with all that “self-identify” stuff we keep reading about.

I think you’re on to something there.

Turkey to join EU.. what could go wrong?

Turkey should have been expelled from Nato the moment the Berlin Wall came down.

  • Mannie

Not only is Turkey buying a lot of oil from daesh, the Erdogan family owns the import company, so they are making personal millions from the deal.

  • Clear Thinker

The Russians should do what Obama wont, bomb all of the oil and see who gets killed. When Erdogan’s family members don’t show up for Christmas, that might be a hint.
